Mechanical Engineering Trainee at Cochin Port Trust Work experience of 1 year as a Mechanical Engineering Trainee in Cochin Port Trust, Willington Island, Kochi, Kerala, India.
There were 4 sections namely PMW(Port Maintenance Wing), IC(Internal Combustion), Auto(Automobile) and Office.
● Assisted in the dismantling, repair and reassembling of a jeep and a pick-up truck engine under auto section and a forklift engine under IC section.
● Part of the team in the repair of both hydraulic and wire rope steering systems on mooring boats and CISF coast guard boats.
● Involved in the repair and replacement of broken and damaged rudder, propeller, rudder shafts, propeller shafts, fenders, etc. under PMW.
● Had done regular maintenance checkup on boats under PMW, heavy-duty vehicles under IC and the vehicles under Auto section.
● In Auto and IC sections, was a part in the repair of the transmission of a jeep and a forklift.
● Assisted in the repair and replacement of both drum and disc brakes of a number of vehicles in Auto and IC section.
● Involved in the service and repair of broken radiators and suspension systems under Auto section and regular maintenance checks of forklifts and stackers in IC section.
● Kept a database of the forklifts rented out from the port on a daily basis when I was in the CME Office.
● Edited and revised the tender document for the wet lease of a vehicle for the port, and had created an advertisement for the same to be published on the newspaper while working at the CME Office. Projects, Internship Experiences and Paper Presentation: Final Year Project:

Project Title: Remote Controlled Portable Air Cooler. Description: Designed and constructed a portable air cooler which could be operated using a wireless remote controller.
