Worked as Safety Advisor at Suncor Plant in Sarnia Ont. as for five weeks during shutdown.

From the last week in May until the middle of October, work on the teardown and replacement of Boiler at Suncor Edmonton main plant.

Ensure that safety practices and procedures were followed during the shutdown and Identify and have corrected any safety concerns found at site or brought up by the personal working the shutdown.

Worked as Safety Advisor at Suncor Main Plant on Boiler # 3 Re-certification.

Some of my duties for this job were to do the Orientation for new hires coming on site.

Precision Steel & Manufacturing Ltd - Edmonton, AB January 1997 to August 2018

Responsible for the satisfactory operation of all quality related requirements for the company:

a)Liaise with the authorized inspector and customer's representative

b)Develop Inspection and Test Plan to the customer's approval and Hold Points

c)Coordinate N.D.E. testing to be completed in accordance to job specification

d)Ensure incoming materials are correct to job specifications and maintain records of material traceability

e)Ensure proper fit-up and dimensions are maintained before welding commences

f)Ensure proper welding procedures are followed and conduct visual and dimensional checks of weld

g)Conduct overall dimensional checks to ensure conformity to drawings and specifications

h)Oversee that all aspects of the paint procedures as per specifications are followed for each job: proper cleaning before paint, correct paint, correct D.F.T is achieved

i)Conduct final inspection prior to shipping and secure proper release documentation

j)Compile Turnover Documentation Package(s) as per customer requirements

I was also on the company Safety Committee, complete annual Safety Audits for M.H.S.A. and conduct internal safety training and W.H.M.I.S. training for employees.

My duties as leadhand were to oversee tasks by the preparation shop employees, where all the material was cut, layout completed, and parts assembled, ensuring dimension specifications were adhered to. I also oversaw a crew of 5-10 men and was responsible for the employee training on various pieces of shop equipment (Ironworker, radiograph, saw, etc.). I also ensured the maintenance and repairs of equipment, ordered and tracked stock material.

I performed welding and fitting duties as well as some aluminum TIG welding and MIG welding.

The main focus of my job was to layout the details to be cut and layout the holes on required parts using the detail drawings and performed welding and fitting duties. This shop fabricated mainly structural steel.

I worked on all aspects of tank manufacturing: rolling shells, fitting, welding, sub-arc welding, layout and testing of the tanks. I was responsible for the afternoon crew of 10. I also operated the 15 ton mobile crane.
