The client is a leading global financial services firm and one of the services they have is to facilitate high value money transfers through Swift payments for the corporates and high net worth individuals. FTS (Fund transfer application) has the functionality to validate the incoming SWIFT transaction and derive the necessary path for the transaction using STP and then do the necessary checking with OFAC and Global fund control. If there is an issue with the transaction it is routed to repair otherwise the transaction is forwarded to the clearing house for the settlement and GL for adjusting the bank balance. FTS achieves this through a series of steps which are periodically scheduled background CICS tasks.
