Fluor Corporation

Fluor is one of the world’s largest publicly traded engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance, and project management companies. KNPC plans to increase productivity at the facility while delivering products that comply with state-of- the-art environmental standards. KNPC’s Clean Fuels Project involves upgrading the Mina Abdullah and Mina Al-Ahmadi refineries to increase capacity. The MAB2 package facility is comprised of a world-scale hydrogen plant (steam reformers), sulphur block (SWS, ARU, SRU) and utilities, off-sites and non-process buildings. It also covers modifications to the existing Mina Abdullah refinery units. A Project package MAB-2 is under construction by Fluor joint venture (Fluor / Daewood Engg.& Cons. Co. / Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.).

AL-ZOUR REFINERY is the world’s largest grass-root refinery with 615,000 bpd capacity. When completed, Kuwait refining capacity will be 1.4 million bpd. The refinery will have high flexibility as it is designed to process various types of Kuwait crude including the Kuwait Heavy Crude (KHC) oil, which will be produced according to KPC upstream strategy. It will provide mainly clean fuel oil to the power plants; and an expansion plan to full conversion is considered as a suitable option. Currently packages 2 and 3 are under construction by Fluor joint venture (Fluor / Daewood Engg. & Cons. Co. / Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.).
