As an IndustrialHygienistComplianceOfficer inspected over2500fatalities, complaints, and general schedule inspections. This includedover 60 fatality investigations, hundredsofcomplaintinspections, numerous catastrophe inspections.

Conductedinspections in highhazardSIC codeinspectionprograms toincludeasbestos,lead, confinedspace, machine guarding, noise, silica,falls, heat stress,ergonomics. Somebriefexamples 1) Bread processing plantwhere anemployeeentered a confinedspacemixing vat withmechanical rotatingbladeswithoutlock-out/tag-outand was groundtohisdeath ending in a citation overonemilliondollars2) An insulationmanufacturer using a cupalofurnace for heat hademployees do periodicmaintenancewithout lock-out/tag- out procedures causing carbon monoxide poisontoemployees3)A sugar processing plantwhere I discovered an imminent dangerinthepowderedsugarroom wherecombustabledusthad excessiveaccumilations ofexplosivedustdueto lack of propercleaningprogramsand exposedemployees to an explosionmuchliketheemployers’sister plant happenedkillingover 20 employees. inspectionresultedin oneofOSHAs larger citations. I also was assignedto work with FEMA as a safety/health liason in their large hurricanereliefcentersduring and afterhurricaneKatrina togive technical safety assistancewhere needed. Following thehurricane I was assigned toNew Orleans for prolonged periods toinspect andprotectemployees involved in clean-up andreconstructionefforts.

I have expertisein identifying and controllinghazards inindustrial hygieneand safetyhazards in industries suchas manufacturing, construction, beef and poultry processing, agriculture, chemicalprocessing, feed lots,grain storage and processing, lead abatement, asbestos abatement, silicaexposure, noiseandhearing conservation, heat stress monitoring andcontrols,ergonomicsand5(1)general dutyclausesituations. I haveconducted hundredsof inspections in theseindustries.InadditionI have conductedover100 fatality investigations to determine the root causehazard(s) andcontrolstopreventfurther injury. Thegoal in all of any above situations is toaccess the safety cultureintheworkplaceand strive to improve it. Ideally, safety trainingand awareness shouldbeone whereallemployeesare“safety inspectors”,surfacing hazards tobeabatedand make a safe productivehigh quality working environment. Whilewith OSHA I conductedfeed lotinspectionsand an Exotic Game ranchFatality inspection. Currently inspecting CactusFeedLots' 10 locationswhileworking for Knopp Safety Experts. HONORS
