SKILLS

WORK EXPERIENCE:

University of California, Merced, School of Engineering Fall 2017-Spring 2019 Undergraduate Research Assistants

• Helped design and create a non-thermal plasma reactor

• Managed to help design a way to increase the temperature of water steam and CO2 flow up to 400oC.

• Helped prove that the activation of biochar through how gas gasification works and has less contamination impact compared to regular methods, by setting up and running experiments of activations of biochar. helped put the samples of biochar into the furnace when the temperature is at 800 degrees Celsius, recording the hydrogen flow rate for heating up the biochar, and recording and setting up the water flow rate for cooling down the activated carbon.

Department of Chemistry and Biology, University of California, Merced Spring 2017-Fall 2017 Undergraduate Research Assistant

• Improved the method of Silica encapsulation on the conjugated gold nanoparticles by controlling the Silica growth rate on the conjugated gold nanoparticles.

• Managed to help design and created a simulation of a DNA Origami Cage with inner dimensions of 18x18 nm and outer dimensions of 27x20nm with one 14 nm gold nanoparticle inside and two 25nm gold nanoparticles on the side for my instructor’s NASA’s proposal.

• Conjugated purified single-stranded DNA to 30 nm gold nanoparticles using the Low-pH method.

Family Tree Farms: Summer 2014, 2015, 2016

• Worked on the fields picking peaches, plums, and nectarines during the summer. During the winter breaks, pruned and tied one to two meters’ tall peaches and plums trees. PROJECTS:

Hygienic Design of Titano, Engineering Capstone Design Project Spring 2019

• Helped design a tube which can be installed into the Titano multi-decorer machine that would prevent vegetables’ biomass from spreading inside the machine. The tube was designed to abide EPA guidelines and to reduce water time and the time of sanitizing the machine to save money for the company

• Managed to keep my teammates on track on deadlines by preparing agendas and taking minutes during the group meetings.

• Worked on the economic analysis and the environmental impact of our project.

• Delivered three group professional presentations to the professors and a broad audience.

Generating Energy at the University Gym, Engineering Economic Analysis Project Summer 2018

• In Microsoft excel, based on the average students attending to the gym I did an estimated economic analysis of how much the gym would spend if they attach a generator to the gym’s equipment, how much energy would be generated at the gym per year, how much energy and money would be saved per year.

High Power Rocket level 1 Spring 2018

• Sanded the outside frame of the rocket and glued the motor retainer and the FinCan at the end side of the rocket.

• Tied the Hard-point Recovery System Anchor with one end of a cord that is holding the inside the parachute and the other side is tied to the Pinnacle nose cone and glued the anchor inside the frame halfway through the rocket.

Pratt Truss Balsa Wood Bride, Statics & Dynamics Class Fall 2016

• Designed a Pratt trust bridged to collapse at a force range of 99N and 145N.

• Calculated the tension and compression forces of each truss member

• Helped construct the bridge by cutting, sanding, and gluing the balsa wood pieces together LEDEARSHIP ROLES:
