Arconic Inc/Alcoa: Tennessee Operations, South Plant 2005-Present Area Electrical Engineer at Alcoa Tennessee Operations North & South Ingot and Can Reclamation. Responsible for melting & holding furnaces, and aluminum casting stations. DC, LHC, and EMC casting for can sheet, automotive & industrial product lines. Union labor. Area Lock/Tag/Verify SPA. CAPEX Projects: Write request for funds, design, install & optimize projects. Integrated into existing PLC and HMI systems. Worked with Mechanical Engineer, Electrical & Mechanical designers. Installed projects with contractors and internal plant resources. Updated all electrical prints and arc flash. Major Projects:

• 2019-2020: FEL3 Engineering for $4.3M Cooling Tower replacement.

• 2018-2019: Electrical Engineer for $11.7M Furnace 3 rebuild. Replaced existing furnace with larger front charged furnace. Installed Bloom regenerative combustion system and first Alcoa furnace with Altek stirring system. Produced a best in class melt rate of 1050 BTU/Lb.

• 2017: Designed, installed and integrated into existing control system Gocator laser mold level control system on EMC #3 casting pit. Upgraded EMC #1 in 2016.

• 2014-2015: Local Electrical Engineering support for $20M upgrade of DC casting to LHC casting station. Allowed conversion from casting can sheet to automotive product line. Team nominated for corporate safety award for project.

• 2012-2013: Designed & worked with contractors to replace existing 6 cell Cooling Tower with new 3 cell Cooling Tower and add new Sand Filter.

• 2010: Designed & Installed plant wide ethernet camera & video recording system. Installed fiber backbone. Initially with 23 cameras, expanded to over 70. Two additional CAPEX projects added two additional areas of plant into one big system with 200 IP cameras & 8 NVR’s.

• 2006-2008: Designed, & installed a $5.2M furnace replacement. Replaced existing Furnace 23 with larger melting furnace with Bloom regenerative combustion system. Resulted in first front charge furnace in Alcoa system with regenerative burners and a system wide best 1200 BTU/Lb. Alcoa – Tennessee Operations, North Ingot 1998-2004 Area Electrical Engineer at Alcoa Tennessee Operations North Ingot. DC casting. Upgraded and maintained combustion systems. Upgraded 8 PLC2 to PLC5. Preformed all CAPEX projects in area including multiple furnace rebuilds.

Alcoa – Massena, New York Operations Ingot Plant 1992-1997 Area Electrical Engineer at Alcoa Massena Operations Ingot plant. Maxicast billet casting. Natural gas combustion systems. Texas Instruments PLC. CAPEX project work included multiple furnace rebuilds which included upgrading combustion & PLC systems. Upgraded two casting stations’ electrical controls.
