MANAGEMENT
At Outback I lead the togo room. I helped to streamline the togo supplies room and rearrange it. I streamlined the togo area and lead it to make a profit again after 5 months of none. At the start of March, the restaurant started to bring delivery to the area. I came up with the ideas to spread door hangers for the immediate area and to take a large supply of coupons and samples to surrounding hotels for the guests coming into town.
At The Founders Inn & Spa I have been the lead day and night DRA (dining room attendant) in which I trained the new DRAs in how the buffet is set for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I am also in the Float program in which each department manager or supervisor mentors highly motivated, dedicated and eligible employees who want to move up in the company. I have also learned how to approach different situations to appease an upset guest. I have also been recently placed on the hiring committee for The Founders Inn & Spa.
SALES
As a server and a trainer at Outback I have had the benefit of being able to expand my wine knowledge and suggestive sale new bottles of wines that pair well with steaks, chicken, ribs and seafood.
As a server at The Founders Inn & Spa I have been able to sell multiple bottles of wine and meals by giving my honest opinion on how the food tastes, is prepared, and how they would pair with each other.
COMMUNICATION
As a person who knows how to cook and also has worked in our kitchen multiple times I am able to communicate how the food is prepared and most of the ingredients that are used in most of the dishes to a guest who may have specific dietary needs. I am also very good communicating with my coworkers about what is going on in the restaurant, at a guest table and what is needed to have a flawless service.
LEADERSHIP
At Outback Steakhouse I am a certified team trainer. As a trainer I have to show new employees the ins and outs of how a dinner service works and teach them items on the menu.
At The Main I am one of 2 lead breakfast servers who have brought up the recognition of breakfast in the new and striving hotel in Downtown Norfolk.
As the lead day and night crew DRA I was tasked with showing the new hires on how everything was set up, how to clean the tables, and where to get the supplies that we need to run service. I was also tasked as the night lead DRA to run the expo line and deliver the guest food to the right table and the right person. As a server, I have taken the reins to clean up, and reinvigorate the Hunt Room and bring it up to the level that I strive for, and that I know it should be at.
At Chuck E. Cheese I was the lead Game Room Attendant and I worked directly with the Game Technician Supervisor on how other Game Room Attendants were working, i.e, if they were cleaning and fixing the games the proper way. As I continued and before I left Chuck E. Cheese I was in the process of being the lead cook.
