Leading programs to launch a range of gears for Komatsu, Caterpillar, John Deere, Bobcat and other Off Highway leaders.

Leading cross functional teams to launch new state of the art electric gears and drive systems across continents into the new revolution in the off highway industry. This involved commissioning new equipment and new processes in line with the new designs of electric gearing.

Led program to introduce new iOT gear condition monitoring devices. This newly patented innovative process will help customers monitor gear life before failure. This will help customers with maintenance cost avoidance, and downtime to OEM customers saving over $100K per large customer.

Leading a 7-person team to initiate new technology and feasibility study for a continuous flow manufacturing facility to increase throughput and automate production. This initiative is being led with several unique ideas that will transform the business into a world class gear manufacturing facility. Leading all aspects of the product line throughout the product lifecycle and deploying a 5-year strategic plan. Cost benefits, quality benefits and supplier reduction benefits are still being tallied as we move into Phase I of a 3 to 5-year implementation plan. This opportunity has a part volume in 5 years of 908,000 assemblies with a Revenue stream of $487M.

GKN Driveline (Tier One Automotive Supplier for AWD and FWD CVJ Joints) 2016 - 2017

Program Launch Manager – Mebane, NC

Led program to decommission old process and machining in place of new process, realizing floor space, maintenance cost avoidance, and downtime to OEM customers saving over $100K. (New Process Improvements, Cost reduction, Maintenance cost avoidance, increased throughput)

Led plant wide team to replace turning operation supplier that was notoriously late on deliveries. Over 300 components replaced utilizing new machines installations and bringing 3 new key suppliers on board in less than one year. (On time delivery, strategic supplier planning, inventory reduction).

Oversaw inventory management, quality drivers, and KPIs, launching all components involved with 36 programs, delivering program readiness KPI targets to 92%. (Quality improvement, KPI targets met, delivery of 36 programs, led team of 60 people).

Prepared plant for launch readiness, ensuring machines were in place, quality checks approved, and manufacturing and welding team readiness. (Start up operations, customer acceptance, Lean Manufacturing Line set ups, machine readiness and quality checks, TS16949 compliance).

Program Launch Manager – Greensboro, NC

Collaborated with multicultural teams, drove product development, gap anaylysis and reached product launch milestones and realizing 7% cost reduction in yearly budgets.

Reduced Takt time 2 minutes per truck on a 6-minute Takt time by leading introducing teams to tooling, fixturing, and improved manufacturing process.

Increased sales 25% in 2 years by developing strategic vision for a NA Mini Hex Plant and laying groundwork to introduce to market 15% faster than previous programs. Led team of eight strategy leaders to create a new Product in the NA market and envision the customer requirements based on Japanese, European market segments. This included new hydraulic systems, new drive train systems, new electronics and new lifting / bucket per square yards of material designs. This also included a total plant layout with machine needs, personnel needs and ramp up to production needs for this start up facility.

Led team of 15 engineers to deploy strategy layout for new green book plant for the first NA Mini Hex market for CAT. Included team participation from Japanese and European counterparts on best in class products and customer requirement vs. US markets. Focusing on the “internet of Technology” in the new machines of the future.

Contributed $1.25M to continuous improvements, developing, implementing, and leading laser process that improved life of axle housings and drive train components for mining trucks 3-fold.
