2013 – December 2016: Operating Utility Manager - LNG Mega Train

Description: The project consists in the construction of a LNG mega train in Skikda, with a production capacity of 4.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The project achievement is attributed to the company KBR.

Job description:

Manage four (04) teams (45 operators and engineers) working on shifts, ensure operations of power generation plant and power distribution. .

-Five (05) Gas turbines Frame 5 (5x25 MW) driven generators (GTG’s), supply normal Power to the LNG Train and part of existing facilities from 11kV to 30kV,, 5.5kV, 380V and 220C, for Transformers, GIS, Switchgears, Motors MCC, UPS, EDG….

Monitoring of all gas turbines and Electrical network distribution, using SPEEDTRONIC MARK 6 System, PMS (Power Management System), and Schneider electric system ENMCS (Electrical Network Monitoring and Control System, based on SEPAM, 40, 80,), IMCS, synchronization, load shedding and load sharing, etc.

Ensure that EDG: Emergency Diesel Generators are always available.

Apply and respect all safety rules and operating procedures required in power plant.

Ensure coaching and training of operating personnel

Proven experience in HSE risk management, procedures and standards related to LNG train and power plant.

Results: LNG Mega train in operation from 2013

2012-2013: Lead Electrical Commissioning and Start up Activities

Supervise electrical daily tasks and site activities and organize, if necessary, the team work

Ensure that all site activities are executed in a safe manner, according to Project Schedule / Quality /HSE standards, safety rules and procedures (Permit to work, LOTO, PPE….) and approved drawings and engineering Documents.

Ensure, before start up, that all equipment’s, Installations and systems are safe to use.

Lead erection and commissioning and start up activities in power plant, testing all electrical equipment’s and systems related to electrical network. (Cables, Transformers, Motors, UPS, Protections relay, EDG’s, switchgears, Breakers, MCC…)

To check GTG’s start up and all components (load sharing and load Shedding) according to manufacturer procedures

Ensure the LNG Liquefied production and associated facilities design, procurement, construction, commission and handover to Company in accordance with the applicable EPC Contract, specifications, standards, codes and best industrial practice

Results: Start-up of the Skikda LNG mega train and start of LNG production in 2013.

Description :

Leads a team of engineer’s responsible f/or:

Participate in development of Detailed Engineering documentation and update of Project documentation for LNG to ensure compliance with Codes, Standards, quality, safety regulations and Company Specifications;

Define. review, and endorse Electrical engineering deliverables; ensure interfaces with others disciplines,

Coordinate and manage the execution of Project Electrical Team responsible for specific Engineering, Commissioning and Operation of the given scope of work (in accordance with applicable EPC Contract) .to meet quality, schedule and cost requirements,

Perform leading role in liaison with Vendors of main electrical equipment to ensure compliance with Project requirements including factory acceptance tests FAT in Manufacturers’ shops and at the Site SAT;

Provide technical support to the project team;

Description :

Ensure the availability, reliability and operation continuity of all electrical equipment’s, Facilities and systems in the LNG /LPG plant, in accordance to procedures, codes and standards

The normal operating of the LNG train, and associate LPG facilities,

The Programmed shutdown of the LNG train; and LPG Unit

The shutdown (trip) using GMAO system;

Analyse Electrical equipment and Power Distribution Control System repeated problems and seek solutions and implement them.

Application of preventive maintenance programs with focus on optimizing costs

Fully responsible for effective, efficient, and safe performance of plant electrical equipment and

System

Participate in preparing preventive maintenance schedule related to all electrical equipment’s Facilities and systems, such as motors, transformers, switchgears, earthing protection circuits; and HVAC system.

Ensure preventive maintenance activities (transformers, motors, switchgears, UPS…,) according to planning and participate in preparing of five years maintenance including HVAC system.

Ensure that: procedures and safety rules: are; respected and applied according to HSE requirements. (PTW, LOTO…Use of PPE...).

To Supervise the ENMCS (Electrical Network monitoring and Control System), system based on Microprocessors relays.
