Moldflow Engineer/ Designer 1/2015 to Present

Minth North America Inc., Wixom, MI

Moldflow/ FEA responsibilities include:

Develop, design, and setup injection molding processes, systems for parts like, Applique, Body side molding, Roof Racks and Grilles

Analysis of injection molded part designs utilizing Moldflow computer aided design tools.

Interpret analytical data pertaining to Moldflow analysis results influence tool and part design/parameters and optimizations in the mold process to increase yield and reduce cost

Communicate the findings and recommendations both internally in a clear and concise manner through simulations, specifications, reports or oral presentations.

Evaluate vendor’s part design releases and provides feedback for improved part quality

Create mid-surface from part designs in Hypermesh software.

Work with manufacturing engineer and tooling engineer in solving issues with part throughout the length of the program using DOE (Design of Experiment) method.

Create Dual domain, 3D and mid-plane mesh models using Hypermesh software.

Mesh part geometry for the moldflow software.

Set up Hot Runner systems and create cooling lines for Moldflow analysis.

Extract water lines from mold designs to do cooling and warp analysis using cimatron software.

Perform thickness analysis, draft analysis, create different layers, create datums, overlay data, create die pull vectors and create core and cavity using cimatron software.

Support simultaneous project activities

Design and other responsibilities include:

Support design activities using NX CAD software

Support quoting activities by working on engineering BOM.

Create blank layouts using Hyperform to optimize cost.

Review and analyze ECR and ECN and update 2D drawing files using NX CAD software

Participate in FMEA related activities with manufacturing and tooling engineers

Handle customer procedures and documents such as Spec Tender, Design note, Data note
