Summery:

Over ** years experience in the electronics industry in a variety of disciplines. For the passed 15 years I have worked in the biomedical field building, testing, and troubleshooting both analog and digital implant and external including microcomputer and radio systems. In the past I have worked on radar, navigation, crypto, servo systems, and laser optical control systems. I have worked with Vacuum Tubes, semiconductors, microcontrollers, ASICs, and FPGAs. I am skilled with all standard test equipment meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and dynamic signal analyzers. I have advanced solder skills and can solder very high pitch VLSIC SMT chips, breadboard new circuit designs, perform repairs to the component level, use Linux, Mac, Windows, office, and specialized test programs. I have designed test fixtures and basic circuits.

Associate Engineer / Engineering Technician

Assembled, tested and repaired micro-miniature circuits and mechanical assemblies under a microscope. Designed and built electronic fixtures using op-amps, transistors, LEDs, and passive components. Wrote procedures and test travelers to satisfy FDA standards. Prepared cross sectional samples of metals and ceramics for microscopic analysis. Worked with medical grade epoxies, silicons, and metals for human implantable device. Skilled with microscopes, computers, and various lab equipment.

2000-2004 California Technical Institute, LIGO Project contracted under Triad Project Management, Pasadena, CA

Sr. Engineering Technician

Assembled, tested, evaluated and repaired prototype assemblies for the National Science Foundation’s LASER Interferometer Gravity Wave Observatories (LIGO). Working on optical servo control and photo detection electronics systems primarily consisting of SMT op-amp filter configurations and digital circuits. I designed test rigs, wrote test procedures and helped maintain computers in our work group.

Performed modifications, tests and repairs on prototype and production microprocessor controlled cell phone interface systems. Soldered SMD parts bread boarded various prototype audio/digital circuits. Maintained records, logs and inventories, using Microsoft Office. Used Windows / Visual basic software to test systems

1994 - 1999 Packard Bell / NEC [Personal Computers], Woodland Hills, CA

Sr. Engineering Technician (& Component Engineer)

Performed modifications, tests and repairs on prototype Intel, Cyrix, AMD, family motherboards, disk drivers, power supplies and adapter cards. Soldered / desoldered SMD parts with as many as 256 pins. Breadboarded various computer and audio/video related circuits. Maintained records, logs and inventories, using Microsoft Office. Used DOS and Windows software to test systems including diagnostic programs such as AMIDIAG, Zenith Diag., Winstone, Winbench, etc. Environmental testing Chamber operation and programming.

1989 - 1993 Micrologic Inc. [Navigational Computers GPS and LORAN] Chatsworth, CA

Lead Technician and manager of Electronic Test Dept.

Supervised Digital/RF Test Department. Participated in the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of 68000 and 8085 family based Loran and GPS receiver/processor. Kept records, logs, inventory, and interviewed new applicants.

1983 - 1989 Newport News Shipbuilding [Submarine and surface ship electronics] Newport News, VA

Senior Test Technician

Performed overhauls, tests, and repairs on military and commercial VLF - UHF communications systems, ESM, and weather satellite tracking and reception gear. SSN, SSBN, and CVN experience. Held secret security clearance.

1977 - 1983 United States Navy [surface ship and Submarine electronics]

Electronics Technician 1st Class

Performed corrective and preventative maintenance on: VLF - UHF receivers, transmitters, and transceivers; multiplexing and patching systems; surface search radars, plan position indicators, and interfacing equipment; fathometers; cryptographic radio and satellite communications; commercial copiers. Also served as training coordinator. Held top-secret security clearance. Served at NAVCAMSLANT and aboard the L.Y.Spear AS-36
