Company History
MJK Safety Services Ltd. was created to assist Client Companies in a multitude of industry and environmental settings ranging from Industrial Manufacturing, Oil, Gas, Pipeline and Mining sectors, Power Production, Commercial and Residential Construction, Agriculture settings, Mechanical repair and production settings; with a forward-thinking approach to current and future “safety” related challenges.
These Safety Challenges i.e. market price fluctuations, cyclical economic prosperity and economic downturns or “boom and bust” events, technological equipment changes and advancements, changing and evolving trade and safety standards all contribute to: worker shortages, worker inexperience, New and Young Worker or “Green Hands”, worker burnout and fatigue, long-term worker complacency and workers taking safety shortcuts, erosion of safety standards, and increased levels of risk tolerance. MJK Safety Services Ltd. recognizes that these are real and sometimes difficult challenges for any company in their efforts to fulfill both their legal and moral obligations to help protect their workers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and affiliates from Near Miss or actual Incidents that result in any minor injuries or more Serious Incidents or Fatalities (SIF) that are life altering and often have outcomes that result in deep emotional and financial impacts on families, coworkers, supervisors, managers and company leaders. In order to assist Client Companies to help address these types of Safety Challenges, MJK Safety Services Ltd. relies on the skill sets, training, and years of field experience of the company Safety Advisors who have worked in a variety of work sectors and environmental settings on some major and significant projects as frontline workers and in a safety role. All Safety Advisors have CSO, NCSO, CSA, OH&S safety training, as well as other leading industry safety training. All Safety Advisors are professional in their conduct, field ready and experienced in working with Client Companies and a wide variety of Contractors that have been hired by a Client Company to perform work during both short-term and longer-term projects. The Safety Advisors have worked in both international and domestic markets and have a proven track record of advising and supporting workers to make positive and safe work decisions. MJK Safety Services Ltd. strives to assist Client Companies and Contractors to produce and implement a high level of Industry and Government Regulated Safety Standards throughout the duration of a project. MJK Safety Services works with both the Client and the Contractor(s) on a system that both parties can mutually agree to, and which interfaces with each other’s safety programs.
Safety Strategies
MJK Safety Services Ltd. believes in three key Safety Strategies to help foster and support this interfaced approach to safety.
1. Development of Professional Safety Relationships MJK Safety Services Ltd. prides itself on helping Client Companies and Contractors to form strong and long-lasting professional, friendly and above all safe working relationships. These relationships are a key element in helping all workers accept or buy into a safety system that recognizes safety leadership is a pro-active, collective and cooperative way of thinking, and this type of thinking is paramount in helping Client Companies and Contractors to eliminate and or mitigate the potential for all incidents but especially those with SIF potential. In order to achieve optimal Safety Relationships; MJK Safety Services Ltd. Safety Advisors have the practical experience in recognizing potential safety challenges, as well as the training to actively listen and engage workers in open, professional, and constructive dialogue about the need to be proactive in their execution of their work duties and their legal and moral safety obligations. 2. Field Level Safety Engagement
MJK Safety Services Ltd. Safety Advisors are active participants at the field level. Instead of just showing up for the morning safety meeting and then barely being visible the rest of the day or during a project; MJK Safety Advisors are willing and available to meet with workers to listen and discuss safety hazards or concerns, as well as having the experience and the knowledge to provide relevant advice and safety resources to help Client Companies and Contractors make informed and sound safety decisions.
3. Timely and Accurate Safety Reporting
MJK Safety Services Ltd. is committed to the timely and accurate gathering of safety related information, analyzing this information, then providing a clear and concise daily 24 Hour Report that outlines and captures and describes the daily safety topics, safety performance and execution of the contractors, safety recommendations and safety strategies or initiatives that the Client Company, Contractor (s) or MJK Safety Services may have implemented to help keep all workers accountable and safe.
