GENERAL GROWTH PROPERTIES 2006 – 2008

Construction Manager

Responsible for the overall program direction of a $375 million fast track class A Shopping Mall in Maumee, OH, including highway access and roadways. Management of CM/GC arrangement with Turner Construction, as well as overall coordination of all Tenant construction, both GGP and Tenant implemented. Coordination of all government agencies. Project completed six months ahead of schedule to meet the Christmas shopping season.

HOSPITALITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION 2004 – 2006

Program and construction management for $350 million Schaumburg Marriott Renaissance Hotel, Convention Center, and Theatre of the Arts. Selection and direction of all consultants, general contractor, and purchasing contractor. Responsibilities include design, engineering, purchasing, field construction supervision, FF&E, contract administration, safety, quality control, and governmental bodies’ interfaces.

MOTOROLA 2001 - 2004

Site Acquisition and Implementation Manager

Direct supervision of a staff of ten project managers responsible for the identification, acquisition, design, and construction of data transmission facilities for the largest wireless data network in the U.S., originally developed by a joint venture of IBM and Motorola. Responsible for total project implementation from site search through final close-out. Work entails evaluating and contracting zoning/permitting consultants, architects, engineers, and general contractors. Responsible for all bidding, contracting, and national purchasing.

Member of the construction management team for the $850 million demolition and complete reconstruction of Chicago’s Midway Airport. Responsibilities include direct supervision of general contractors and vendors. Supervision of subcontractors, contract management, change order review and generation, cost negotiations and estimates, schedule review, requisition approvals and shop drawing review and problem resolution, coordination of multiple architects, engineers, government entity interface, field coordination, and inspections. Supervision of project field engineers, scheduler, and office engineer.

Vice President Facilities Management 1999 - 2000

Responsible for complete management of capital expenditures program, direct supervision of major renovations, MEP operations, implementation of national roof repair/replacement program, facility due diligence on acquisitions, establishment of national accounts and signage programs, FF&E purchasing, and energy/telecommunications cost reduction programs for the fourth largest senior living community corporation. Direct supervision of contractors, consultants, vendors, and in-house facilities project manager. Dotted line supervision of seventy on-site Maintenance Directors. MOA HOSPITALITY 1997 - 1999

Responsible for due diligence, design, new construction, re-hab, major maintenance, all capital expenditures, telecommunications, and all purchasing for the second largest independent franchisee hotel company. Direct supervision of general contractors and vendors, as well as supervision of a director, four project managers, due diligence manager, telecommunications manager, senior accountant, controller, four executive administrators, and an outsource purchasing organization. Full project responsibility from inception through lifecycle. Franchises managed include Hampton, Cendant, Choice, and Marriott.

ARAMARK-School/Daycare Division 1995 -1997

National Director of Construction

Responsible for development, design, and construction of multiple childcare facilities and private elementary schools throughout the United States. Participation in projects from site selection and due diligence through construction punch list and warranty period. Work entailed both new construction and re-hab of existing buildings. Child safety design was a major concern.

Responsible for design and construction of low rise, mid-rise, and full service high rise hotels, and senior care centers, as well as large hotel additions. Performed the direct supervision of general contractors and, acting as a general contractor supervising subcontractors. Responsible for all buy-out, bill payment, and administration, as well as field supervision. Responsible for the total overall budget and project control. Supervised staff consisting of general superintendent, six project superintendents, two project engineers, executive secretary, clerks, and project accountant. Experience included on-site field supervision of subcontractors on high rise hotel projects.

AT&T 1979 - 1987

Manager-Real Estate Division

Responsible for lease negotiations, business management, space programming, working drawing preparation, construction implementation, and furniture acquisition. Total project control from initial programming through final bull payment. Team member in the three million square foot high rise AT&T Chicago Corporate Center project. Responsibilities included developer, architect, and engineer analysis/selection, and contract preparation. Establishment of building core & shell and tenant work design, and lease negotiations.

Responsible for maintaining sophisticated HVAC, electrical, and architectural building systems, and house service maintenance. Supervised In-house Union crew of twenty craft-persons and twenty properties totaling 1,500,000 square feet. Work entailed management of multiple outside contracts, and computerized monitoring of P. M. schedules. This was a 24-7 position.

SARGENT & LUNDY ENGINEERS 1974 - 1979

Structural Specialist

Started as a draftsperson, progressed to technician, designer and finally engineer. Responsibilities included drafting, calculations, computer usage and programming, design, and analysis. Worked on several projects involving diverse structures. Both fossil fuel and nuclear power plants. Supervised staff of seven draftspersons. Interfaced with governmental agencies.
