Hawaiian Airlines Dec 2019 – Till date

Phoenix, AZ

Senior Systems Analyst

Hawaiian Airlines was incorporated on January 30, 1929 under the name Inter-Island Airways Ltd. That year, thousands gathered in Honolulu to witness the departure of Hawaii's first scheduled inter-island flights to Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii. The fleet was comprised of two eight-passenger Sikorsky S-38 amphibian planes; six years later, larger 16-passenger Sikorsky S-43s were added to accommodate increased traffic and newly authorized inter-island airmail service. Now in its 90th year of continuous service, Hawaiian Airlines is Hawaii's biggest and longest-serving airline. Hawaiian Airlines has led all U.S. carriers in on-time performance for each of the past 14 years as reported by the U.S. DOT. Consumer surveys by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure and TripAdvisor have placed Hawaiian Airlines among the top of all domestic airlines serving Hawaii.

Project : CX- KIOSK Check-in

Role : FE / KIOSK Tester

Project Details:

New Check-in is basically a new single page application being built on Angular technology stack for customer facing. Encouraging the passengers to complete their check-in formalities at ease and shifting them off from airport is the main objective of this program. This would help to improve the overall passenger experience and thereby increasing the business and revenue generation. To achieve this, we are replacing three customer facing applications - Web Checkin, Mobile Checkin and Kiosk Check-in. The kiosk single page application (SPA) will be delivered using the current legacy UX. Once the responsive web check-in and kiosk check-in user experience is re-designed, the kiosk SPA will replace the UI components accordingly. The "re-skinning" exercise is targeted for Program Increment 4, but subject to change.

Kiosk and web check-in shares the same UX design. Both allow flexibility to pax to choose their steps in the check-in path. The applications UX sits on a landing page that allows pax multiple ways to identify himself/herself to the system. The application displays the trip. The screen displaying the trip is known as the "hub page" today. The passenger has the flexibility to proceed to check-in directly, manage any aspects required and/or optional in the check-in path - print documents, add and pay for bags, change seat or upgrade seats, purchase any additional offers available during the check-in path.
