Work Experience:
Cigna, Bloomfield, CT – May 2019 – March, 2020, Jr. Fullstack Developer
I modified various extract-transform-load processes written in Python and SQL to improve the data quality of reports received by Cigna's care providers. For testing, we used Python's unittest library, and FitNesse with Java. I worked with the python-jenkins API to make utilities that tracked when Jenkins jobs were not green, who or what caused them, and what git commits they corresponded with so that teams in our area would push less faulty code to Development. I also did some unit testing in Jasmine for our Angular.js front end for these reports and did the bulk of the work to upgrade that front end from Node 4 to Node 10.
This was a 10 month contract. The employer was Apex Systems and the company I worked at was Cigna.

Responsibilities: Handled a variety of production support related responsibilities, including helping clients use the applications we supported, debugging Java programs, making and improving various Java utilities, documenting utilities and procedures we used or followed, teaching others about these utilities and procedures, ensuring daily policy and form batch jobs (usually loads) ran correctly, performing special form and policy loads at customers’ requests, and speeding up monthly version deployments (deployments of the latest versions of our applications to production). Our team used Rally to handle user stories and Remedy to respond to issues with our applications.
Travelers Insurance, Hartford, CT – Summer 2014 - Information Technology Intern
Responsibilities: Created an MSWord based reporting application used by Risk Control to store various data from frequently updated Word documents and templates into a SQL Server Database. By running the application weekly, the department was able to keep track of notable changes to these documents and templates.
Otis Elevator, Farmington, CT – Summer 2013, System Analyst Intern
Responsibilities: Documented, architected, designed and implemented a re-write of an existing MS Excel based tool that employees use to assess themselves on various job-related skills. The information captured by this tool is used to identify department/site training needs/gaps. Worked closely with end users to gather and document system requirements. Built various functions in VBA to automate Excel functions, manipulate and merge table contents as well as publish assessment results to a central repository for reporting purposes. End product improved the quality of data captured, shortened the amount of time required to perform assessments, and simplified the management of evolving assessment criteria via a singular Excel data repository.
