I am writing to you today regarding my application for the full-time position of cashier. I believe my work ethic, strong interpersonal skills and excellent ability to learn quickly and follow directions will make me an ideal candidate for this position. I have experience as a cashier/sales associate at Park Shoes. In addition to providing exceptional customer service, I was responsible for all sales and return transactions, including cash, debit and credit. My time working at Park Shoes taught me valuable life skills including adaptability, ensuring the customer happiness, communication, leadership and organization. Additionally, I played competitive soccer my whole life. Involvement in sport has taught me many skills that make me an excellent employee. I was team captain for three of the teams I played for. Being a serious athlete as well as a dedicated student taught me to be hard working as well as be organized. I was consistently acknowledged by my coaches as a dedicated, responsible hardworking player.

I am not afraid of hard, physical work; in fact, I embrace it. One of the reasons I chose to study Criminology to work towards a career as a police officer is that I greatly enjoy the physical and demanding aspects of the job. I am willing to give my 100% in anything I do. My time working at Park shoes has taught me about different brands and customer needs. I know how to properly fit shoes, organize stock rooms and provide insight into brands or styles customers may be looking for. Additionally, in working in a shoe store I have developed a passion and love for shoes that I hope to spread to others. I have also been involved in my community and my high school as a volunteer. These volunteer opportunities at Open House, Horticulture plant sales and through SnowBusters have allowed me to develop the ability to work effectively with the public and to provide great customer service. I am a trustworthy person who can work without supervision. For these reasons, I believe that a relationship with Sobeys will be mutually beneficial as I am seeking a work environment that will allow me to fully utilize my skills, as well as acquire new ones along the way.
