PLANT OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL

MANUFACTURING MANAGEMENT

Managed all local plant operations including employee training, production and maintenance planning, cost analysis, quality control, capitol planning, departmental and plant budgeting, safety administration direct supervision and training of up to fifteen salaried supervisors and up to one hundred and fifteen union and temporary employees.

Directed all plant operations for a remote plant location (Las Vegas NV) including. production and maintenance planning, cost analysis, quality, capitol planning, and plant budgeting, Direct supervision of a Plant manager of up to eight five non-union and temporary employees.

Consolidated the Las Vegas plant operations into the Philadelphia when west coast volume declined to the point in which its operation no longer remained viable. Moved all equipment into the Philadelphia facility

Screened and hired all new employees utilizing the Target Selection Interviewing Process.

Increased production over 35% in multiple manufacturing plants.

Developed, implemented and managed the plant’s safety program. This included developing a safety

committee, and ensuring all OSHA required training is completed

Decreased O.S.H.A. recordable accidents by 30 % at three plant locations.

Developed, implemented and managed the plant’s World Class housekeeping team. This program dramatically improved the housekeeping, safety and cost effectiveness of the plant

Developed and implemented plan to consolidate six levels and fifteen job functions into one level and function, increasing the functionality of all employees.

Point person on division’s folding carton procurement team, generating annual savings over $2 million.

Dramatically reduced impounds by improving manufacturing processes, improving shipping processes, and working with Research and Development to improve manufacturing techniques.

QUALITY ASSURANCE / QUALITY CONTROL MANAGEMENT

Developed a Vendor Qualification program for inks, and anilox, gravure, and nip rollers.

Implemented a division-wide SPC program, improving overall product quality and consistency.

Developed ink-purchasing program with a volume discount that saved over $120,000 annually.

Directed experimental process that enabled conversion of a Flexographic press to an offset gravure.

Instituted a quality audit program for all seven liquid packaging plants.

Revised and updated all solvent based ink and printing test standards and procedures

Developed and implemented new procedures for the quality of UPCs resulting in an 80% reduction in waste due to misprinted codes

MATERIALS MANAGEMENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Managed all functions of 125,000 sq. ft. warehouse including direct supervision of union employees and first line supervisors. Increased shipping from 58 million to 80 million pounds and increased on time performance while reducing costs.

Responsible for all inbound and outbound operations in a state of the art 180,000 sq. ft. high-volume full-service Pick Pack RF controlled warehouses.

Managed up to 28 remote warehouse locations. Including sales fulfillment, inventory control, traffic expenses, location selections and negotiations with public and private warehouses including. Haz-Mat certified, Forklift Trainer certified, and D.O.T. trained.

Directed the manufacturing and distribution of all of Dial's Dry Detergents and Personal care products with annual sales in excess of $3.1 billion throughout the country.

Decreased average ending inventory levels by over 400,000 per month, saving $3.5 million annually.

Redistributed production among all of the plants saving over $1.4 million in annual T&D costs.

Changed processes used in Forecasting, increasing accuracy from 62% to 87%

Converted raw material purchasing system from a manual to a computer M.R.P. purchasing system.

Increased raw material turns to a division-high of 11.44, up from 5.12, by instituting J.I.T. purchasing.
