SAP Basis Technical Director and Architect on DOD accounts. Perform Basis Lead responsibilities: Technical direction, work scheduling, planning technical work schedule to meet functional demands, develop documentation for implementation and sustainment, and mentor Basis team members (48 consultants and leads). Provided staffing decisions for SAP Basis including Portal, Oracle DBA, and SAP systems implementation and monitoring. As a Hands On lead I also have the capability to perform client copies, system copies, troubleshoot performance and functional issues, assist functional groups and ABAP developers to ensure efficiency and schedule requirements are on target. I also have responsibility to provide information for cross application functionality on upgrades, support packages and their dependancies.

May 1996 to November 2000 Andersen Consulting, Ohio - Consultant

SAP Basis support consultant - Managed all internal IDES and IDES training systems. These systems were used to train Basis Administrators and ABAP developers. Coordinated the InfoDB system which provided SAP learning tools and presentation, since been replaced by Knowledge Warehouse. Managed all jumpstart systems, which entailed client exports, imports, copies and database export and imports. I was also responsible for system updates including support packs, add-ons and general troubleshooting.

PC and Network support in this role, I serviced over 200 consultants, managers and partners by troubleshooting, installing and upgrading systems. This was unique in the amount of time management that was needed to keep up with demand. This included installations, upgrades, configuration and support on desktop, laptop, lotus notes, windows 95/98/nt/2000, MSOffice, Norton antivirus, etc, Network cabling, configuration, Novel Netware, server hardware.

Project History:

Navy ERP (July 2004 - Present)

SAP Technical Director and Basis lead for SAP technical implementation and ramp up for Netweaver 7.0. Role encompasses installations, client copies, system copies, change management, SAP core troubleshooting, technical architecture, scheduling, oss notes, upgrades, support package scheduling and implementation, over all system health checks, implementation of solution manager and disaster recovery.

Army GFEBS (December 2017 – January 2020)

Technical Director over technical/basis work and determine

feasibility for improvements. This is a high visibility role

requiring communication to all levels of the Army. Defining

the five-year plan and developing innovative processes to

complete transition/migration of work efficiently, is required

with communication with the Project Director, CTO and COLONEL.

An example We performed a performance analysis and found several

parameter issues and outdated hardware. We proposed a

comprehensive performance package. The approach was to apply

updated parameter values and then migrate the hardware already

performed 100% better cutting payroll jobs from 72 to 43 hrs.

The Hardware move to their production ECC system from

ten-year-old hardware to new hardware while migrating from

Veritas File Systems to Oracle ASM. This is where the most

significant performance difference was realized. The payroll jobs

ran in less than sixteen hours and user response times were at an

all time low at less than 2.5 seconds for a dialog process. This

lead to the Army declaring this the best Year End Close on

record.

EON US (December 2006 – July 2007)

Basis lead for EON US or Louisville Gas and Electric.

Created initial application and system architecture. Presented

the “as is” and “to be” environments with High Availability using

SAP failover capability and Oracle RAC to the Oracle and SAP

Basis teams.

Clarke County (June 2004)

Presented technical architecture of typical SAP landscapes. Technical discussion on HACMP. Provided detailed diagrams and conceptual plans to support HA using IBM disk arrays with SAP enqueue failover technology.

University of Kentucky (May 2004)

Presented technical architecture of typical SAP landscapes to determine Technical Architecture with the appropriate amount of hardware and system resources to be purchased. The presentation also encompassed a brief overview of a typical implementation plans and discussions of issues.

Marathon Oil SAP Basis support (February 2003 July 2004)

Provided troubleshooting, upgrades and patch installation, on BW, EBP and OLTP systems. This included upgrading from BW 20 to 31, Oracle 8i to 9i, IS-Oil service release 2 patch installations, ITS 610 installation and patch application, troubleshooting enterprise portal 50 from the oltp and its systems.

IBM Global Finance Performance tuning (November 2002- February 2003)

Provided Basis support for OLTP (R3) v46C, CRM v310, and BW v610. This project is in midst of going live on currently an unavailable product, Leasing Asset Management v320. Here I provided support by applying oss notes and performing some CTS duties. Also, I researched the ability of using MDMP and Unicode on all systems.

Marathon Oil Edison project (November 2001 November 2002)

Provided all Basis support for the development of HR implementation this included Support and development of printers, scripts, transports, training systems and clients, System and parallel testing systems and clients. We also implemented SAP Portals integrating Manager self service (MSS) and Employee self service (ESS) with R/3 and BW systems. This included implementation of single sign on (sso) and secure socket layer (ssl). I also served as a liaison between Marathon and the IBM Hosting group in Lexington Ky. My roles in this were support of Marathon HR and transition all Hr support tasks to the hosting group.

Newport News Shipbuilding (November 2000 November 2001)

Worked with new Basis team members on overall system monitoring and performance tuning. Key member in 4.6C upgrade project and HR decoupling effort. Successfully upgraded two production systems simultaneously, moving them from 3.1I to 4.6C. We have also been planning and testing the upgrade to NNSs largest environment. This upgrade entailed moving 3.1h with AeroSpace Defense add-on to 4.6c discreet industries.

Installed WFM/HR system with BSI Taxfactory Bolt on to support payroll implementation.
