The Public Works Director (PWD) supervises the activities of various departments within the public works sector. These departments include Housing, Industrial, engineering, utilities, and equipment maintenance. The PWD oversees the physical facilities of the Naval base and any services that enable the Naval base to function. The PWD works under the direction of the Navy Base Command.

One main aspect of PWD work is the ability to develop long-term programs that enhance the Naval Base. The PWD is responsible for reviewing the proposals of the public works staff. The PWD presents the top plans to the Navy Department Heads for consideration and then assigns work to the staff once a project has been selected. The PWD analyzes completed projects against the budget to track the group's spending and the success of the project.

MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, Private Island, Bahamas – Project Engineer responsible for the site design of infrastructure including civil plans, permitting, cost estimating, and construction planning and logistics for the development of a 95-acre isolated uninhabited island into a resorts type destination for cruise ships approximately 50 miles due east of the port of Miami. The Cruise Ship company MSC had contracted to develop this deserted island that had previously been used by the Bahamian government for mining activities to bring pristine beach sand to other resorts in the Bahamas. The infrastructure designed included Diesel Power Electric Generator, underground power lines, Water, Wastewater facilities and Fire protection facilities including aboveground water storage tank for a 4-hour fire flow and reverse osmosis water treatment plant. Also, a wastewater treatment plant and 6 small grinder pump stations with force mains to accommodate the restrooms and wastewater generated on the island. Included in the design was a maintenance plan to dispose of the sludge produced in the wastewater treatment plant. The island infrastructure was designed to accommodate up to two (2) cruise ships and 10,000 guests for any 12-hour period.

Ranger Drainage District, Orange County, FL – Project Engineer for the setup and analysis of the hydraulic modeling of the 2,500-acre drainage district, which had six canals draining mixed-use land to The St. Johns Water Management District basin. Provide detailed cost estimating for future planning within the district and yearly budget planning.

Jupiter Medical Center, Jupiter, FL – Project managed major renovations to the existing 30-acre medical center including water, sewer, paving, drainage systems design, detailed cost estimates, and construction administration.
