Application Development

Data Warehouse/ETL/Business Intelligence Development

Built and managed a solid Master Data Management development and support staff, establishing a “meet the needs of the business” approach providing software-based solutions and services enabling BI/Information Delivery results for the business.

Key contributions and accomplishments:

Primary responsibilities were to directly manage development and support staff/team members to build and support data consolidation processes from multiple systems of record providing data availability for analytics, reporting and downstream data feeds or consumption focusing on development and support of a Large Key Data Warehouse and several Web based applications, The warehouse and Web services supported the Home Mortgage business groups for Retail Sales and Fulfillment Services, Correspondent and Institutional Lending operations. Here are some of the Key contributions and accomplishments that were provided through leadership, staff development and project management:

Delivered data services via a Data Warehouse executing 330 batch processes that collected data from 42 Systems of Record providing next day availability for the business.

To make sure data services were available, dependable and ready for daily use developed a Support Service Model using ITIL frame work and practices establishing SLA/OLA goals and methods to make sure the delivery of the data was as excepted for business to use ensuring a highly dependable availability.

Provided Project Management for 4000+ projects/tasks over 10 years required managing business priorities, budget, schedules, dependencies and staffing making sure those requirements were delivering those complex business requirements.

To ensure continuous availability of the data services a disaster recovery plan was deployed establishing a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) which was tested annually. The technical BCP capability was built using NAS to support backup of Production then using Snap Mirror capabilities to a BCP data center. Also utilized and supported UAT and Development environments for testing and development.

Built the technical infrastructure environment for the Data Warehouse using MS Windows servers operating MS SQL Database products SSDB, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS and MS .NET frame work via MS IIS Web services, Autosys scheduling, custom utility software, email and text alert to report process success or failure. Designed and constructed a table-driven process construction and logging capability enabling all processes to be constructed and managed in the same manor so supportability was kept simple and “all the same way” making the support of the Data Warehouse batch processes simpler and easier to learn and support.

Supported the development and daily delivery of OLAP Cubes, approximately 250, meeting complex metrics and KPI’s enabling the transformation of data into Information for the business to better understand areas of success and where focus needed to be placed.

Supported a direct user base of 30 in 2004 to 750+ and growing.

Led and directed an IT staff of 52, 4 PM's, 47 developers and an assistant, with an annual budget of $3.5MM providing a clear set of priorities based on the needs of operations and clients.

Led the consolidation of multiple order capture processes into a single capturer process resulting in the reduction of support FTE’s reducing IT run rate by $500,000.
