CAPSTONE PROJECT FOR DUMAC Inc. (R, SQL, Tableau)

In the process of doing project for DUMAC Inc. DUMAC manages Duke University’s endowment fund, currently valued at approximately 8 billion dollars. Project focuses on ESG to downside risk of funds, which includes using SQL to clean and merge big data, applying time-series analysis and Fama-French models. Expected completion date: 24th April. ANALYZING CONSUMER OPINION OF WEWORK (R)

Used R and Twitter developer account to conduct sentiment analysis, exploring public opinion of WeWork. Analyzed various opinions and compared those to the news release dates. Concluded that sentiment analysis on its own is not effective, as most of the reposted tweets were pictures which were marked as neutral but had sentiment in it. Suggested potential ways to improve analysis.

PREDICTING CONSUMER CREDIT CARD DEFAULT IN TAIWAN (R) Used statistical models including k-means, logistic regression, linear regression and classification trees, identifying characteristics of consumers who are likely to default.

DETERMINING FACTORS DRIVING EQUITY AND GOLD PRICES (BLOOMBERG, PYTHON) Motivated team of five on financial project focused on time-series analysis to determine Granger causality of Gold prices on equity return. Used Bloomberg Platform to extract financial data in necessary format, used Python to analyze causal movements of Gold and Equities by using Phase Slope index and visualized PSI plots as a heatmap Concluded lack of causality, except for months before major financial downfalls.
