At PNG, my primary responsibility was calculating the quarterly and annual tax provisions under the guidelines of ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes. In addition, we implemented a tax provision software package instead of Excel spreadsheets. At Brown-Forman, I review 40-50 quarterly/annual international tax packages and other related international tax schedules for the quarterly and annual close. At Covia, I’m responsible for the foreign tax credit calculation including E&P studies, Section 956 issues, cash repatriation and previously taxed income. At Ascena, I assisted with various year-end tax accounting issues including APB 23 documentation. At Dentsply, I was responsible for completing the R&D credit calculation and all supporting documents. At Vita-Mix, I was responsible for completing several projects related to VAT/GST in Mexico, Canada, UK, Australia and Germany, finalizing five 2015 transfer pricing studies and a reverse Ohio use tax audit.

Shiloh Industries is a $1.1 billion manufacturer of advanced metal product solutions for high volume applications in the North American, European and Asian automotive, heavy truck and trailer markets. I had overall responsibility for Shiloh’s worldwide tax liability including operations in Mexico, Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and China.

Preparation and review of the annual global tax provision and tax footnote in accordance with ASC 740, FIN 48 and GAAP including management of the global effective tax rate, deferred taxes, valuation allowances and uncertain tax positions.

Saved approximately $14,000,000 in taxes by filing amended returns, securing tax incentives at our various facilities throughout the United States, negotiating a favorable purchase price adjustment, appealing real estate values and enacting various tax planning strategies at the federal, international, state and local level.

Overall responsibility for twelve foreign subsidiaries including tax accounting, tax planning, tax audit assistance, transfer pricing strategies and studies and compliance.

Performed tax due diligence including the implementation of tax planning strategies when acquiring the assets or stock of other domestic or foreign corporations.

Ferro Corporation is a $2.2 billion, leading producer of specialty materials and chemicals. 2005-2007, had overall responsibility for Ferro’s worldwide tax liability including 35 international operations. 2005-2009, managed Ferro’s worldwide effective tax rate, FAS 109 and FIN 48 including 35 international locations and all US federal and state tax compliance.

Park Ohio is a $1.2 billion diversified manufacturing services and products holding company with over 2,500 employees, operating from 80 locations in 14 countries. I was the initial hire for a one-person tax department in 1996 and hired a second person in 2000 after Park-Ohio doubled their sales from $300 million to $600 million primarily through acquisitions. I had overall responsibility for Park-Ohio’s worldwide tax liability including 10 international operations.

Preparation of annual global tax provision and tax footnote in accordance with FAS 109 and GAAP including management of global effective tax rate and deferred taxes.

Prepared and reviewed the entire consolidated federal tax return for Park-Ohio and its thirty operating subsidiaries/divisions.

Reviewed all state and local income and property tax returns for Park-Ohio and Subsidiaries including combined returns and filings in numerous states.

Saved approximately $4,500,000 in taxes by filing amended returns, refund claims and enacting various tax planning strategies at the federal, international, state and local level.

Coordinated and managed all federal and state income, franchise, sales/use, personal property and real property tax audits and appeals including a three-year IRS audit which resulted in one minor adjustment.
