●Buyer/Estimator/Procurement Manager. My responsibilities included the complete management of the supply chain and materials inventory, studying blueprints and other technical documents to estimate the material and labor costs of potential projects, issuing quotes for those projects to prospective clients, soliciting quotes from potential materials suppliers and issuing purchase orders based on price, quality, and other factors, and coordinating logistics. I also centralized procurement procedures and activities of all six domestic Abtrex divisions under the management and oversight of the Main Office in South Bend, IN.

●Cost Analysis and New Construction Planning for a $2.4 million expansion to Abtrex’ South Bend manufacturing facilities which concluded in the summer of 2019. This included soliciting and awarding construction and utilities contracts, obtaining funding sources, and managing permits, ordinances, etc., as well as $1 million in capital equipment. In connection with this proposed expansion, and on my own initiative, I conducted negotiations with the St. Joseph County Council for a $300,000 property tax abatement, and then represented Abtrex during the process of passing that legislation successfully through the County Council. I organized and was responsible for the system by which all blueprints, spec sheets, inventory lists, purchase orders, and shipping and receiving records were received, filed, updated, distributed, secured, and disposed of. During the first decade following my graduation from Monmouth College, I was heavily involved in the political affairs of my local community and the State of Wisconsin. That experience includes having been Deputy Chief of Staff for the administration of Governor Tommy Thompson, and Chief of Staff for the Speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly, Representative David Prosser. I was also communications director for three successful campaigns for the U.S. Congress, and a successful statewide campaign for the State Supreme Court, as well as many campaigns for state legislative office. Lastly, I was myself the winner of three primary elections during this time, and therefore the Republican party’s nominee for a seat in the Wisconsin State Legislature.
