OLDCASTLE PRECAST, NEW ENGLAND 2015-2016
To increase precast concrete market shares by informing engineers, engineering students, municipalities, and contractors about; specifying, designing, and installing; precast concrete structures, and alternative products, through educational presentations. Ultimately convincing that precast concrete is the best choice. Including T-wall, Mega Block Retaining Wall, 3-Sided Bridge, Pumpstations, Boxculvert, Hydrodynamic separators, underground stormwater detention systems, prestressed piles and bridge decks.
To arrange and conduct:
Lunch & Learn seminars to engineers, municipalities and contractors.
marketing calls to engineers, municipalities, and contractors.
update product catalogues, AutoCAD details, and write specifications for distribution.
develop handouts and participate in tradeshows.
seminars to civil engineering students.
plant tours for potential users and specifiers of precast concrete products.
to ensure OSHA guidelines are followed during construction. Accomplishments:
Tufts University, $1,000,000 underground stormwater detention system, solo specified with the competition. I influenced the design engineer to issue an addendum changing JEAN M. CARON B.S. Civil ENG. PAGE 2
the specification to a performance spec. allowing Oldcastle to supply the product. First Stormcapture project ever sold in New England.
Hudson River expansion project, Ancram, NY, I influenced the design engineer to change his initial design from corrugated metal pipe to 3-sided precast concrete bridge. HANSON PIPE & PRECAST, NEW ENGLAND 2006-2008
Technical Resources Engineer
To promote precast concrete products by teaching the construction community the benefits of specifying, designing, and installing; concrete pipe and precast concrete structures verses plastic pipe through educational presentations. Accomplishments:
Convinced decision makers, on two major municipal transit projects, to issue an addendum, replacing plastic pipe design with reinforced concrete pipe design.
Published two articles in the American Concrete Pipe Association’s Concrete Pipe News;
