Title: “STUDY OF COAL MILLS”

Description: In thermal power plant heat energy of a coal makes the water into vapour. This vapour rotates the turbine. Due to this rotation of the turbine it generates electricity. In this case we have studied the working of a Coal Mills.

Title: “CHARECTERISATIONOFPURE ALLUMINIUM FRICTIONSTIR WELDMENTS”

Description: Joining of two metals with pressure (or) non pressure is called as welding. There are so many welding processes we have, in that processes we have selected friction stir welding.

Friction stir welding is nothing but joining of metal using friction. Here we have prepared few specimens and we have conducted hardness, tensile and impact tests and obtained some positive results.

Title:"ENHANCING THE PERFORMANCE OF A HORIZONTAL AXIS WIND TURBINE WITH ASSISTANCE OF WIND LENS TECHNOLOGY”

Description: The function of a draft tube in any reaction turbine is to increase the net available head and also to increase its efficiency. The power generated by any wind turbine is always directly proportional to the cube of inlet wind velocity. If we increase the inlet wind speed, it directly results in substantial increase of output power and the efficiency. This can be achieved by placing a diffuser around a horizontal wind turbine, which increases the inlet wind velocity due to low pressures at diffuser inlet.

We are using three different diffusers having different lengths, outlet diameters and also diffuser angles and the results are compared with wind turbine without diffuser. It is found that diffuser of divergence angle of with a wind velocity of 2 gives maximum power out, which is greater that Betz limit.
