CAREER SUMMARY

I am a qualified and experienced Corrosion Expert with high level of expertise spanning over Eleven and Half (111/2) years mainly in Painting, Field Joint Coating, Nondestructive Testing (NDT), Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), Passive Fire Proofing (PFP), Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE), Pipeline Coatings, Concrete Weight Coating, Pickling and Passivation, Hot and Cold Insulation, Offshore Corrosion Assessment, Corrosion Survey and other related works. I am familiar with different Clients’ Specifications/ Global Practices (GP) & International Standards such as ASTM, ISO, NACE, SSPC, and other internationally utilized Codes and Standards. I am a versatile and competent Corrosion Expert with reliable approach to all tasks with excellent team effort and own initiative, interested in a new and challenging role in QAQC.

I managed and completed the full blasting and painting of Total Upstream Nigeria’s Egina FPSO Hull Appurtenances and Topside Structures for Egina FPSO Scope in Nigerdock and Dorman Long Engineering (DLE) Yards in Lagos and structures were successfully loaded out and delivered to Samsung Heavy Industries Yard in Geoje, Korea for integration to the Hull of the FPSO which was being fabricated then in Korea. Egina FPSO is already in operation offshore. The loaded-out structures were for Splash, Immersed, Atmospheric and Heat Zones, and some areas were coated with Passive Fire Proofing (PFP) under my supervision. I also managed Coating Scope for Amber Resources Nigeria Ltd on various Clients’ Projects including Total, Mobil and others.

I currently oversee the Corrosion Management aspect of NPO Projects for Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPN) as Company Representative. My present Project is ERHA Piping Replacement Project.

I championed the successful delivery of the coating aspect of MPN’s OSO RG Restart Project from Work Preparation in Delta Afrik Office to Final Painting, Offshore. I also ensured the successful completion of MPN’s EAP IGE Replacement Project with expanded scope – Painting of Carbon Steel Spools, Decks and Supports (Onshore and Offshore), Pickling and Passivation of Stainless Steel Spools (Onshore and Offshore), Passive Fire Proofing and Insulation of Lines connected to the IGE (Offshore). Similarly, I managed the painting of Pressure Vessels (Internal and External), Structures, Supports and Carbon Steel Spools for UBIT GP Restoration Project as MPN Company Representative in Aveon Fabrication Yard, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Duties: NACE Certified Coating Inspector – Level 3/ Company Representative for Corrosion Management aspect of Projects for Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPN). My present Project is ERHA Piping Replacement Project.

Period: June 2017 to November, 2017

Position: Coating Inspector

Duties: I managed QA/QC Painting/Coating and Corrosion Engineering activities for Clients’ Projects as a NACE Certified Coating Inspector – Level 3 for Amber Resources Nigeria Ltd, basically on MPN’s OSO RG Restart Project. I also prepared the Procedures for Blasting and Painting works for Projects and equally estimated the volumes of coating materials and consumables utilized for the Projects.

Job Description

I prepared the Procedures for Blasting and Painting works for the Project.

I constantly ensured that the minimum requirements for materials, surface preparation, paint application and inspection of external protective coatings for offshore installations consisting of structures, piping and equipment were met by all Concerned Parties.

I embarked on Offshore Visits/ Inspection Trips when required.

I handled Nondestructive Testing (NDT) as required by Client.

I also estimated the volumes of coating materials and grits utilized for the Project.

I established and maintained inventory logs for materials (e.g. paint, thinners, and abrasives) used for blasting and painting works for the Project.

I performed Inspection and Tests in accordance with GP/ Specifications.

I ensured adequate protection of surfaces not to be coated (e.g., machined surfaces and glasses).

I also ensured protection of applied coatings from degradation resulting from overblast and overspray.

I utilized Environmental Control Equipment to achieve and maintain the required application and curing conditions of paints.

I supervised touch-up repairs of defective or damaged coated surfaces.

I ensured that Test Instruments were calibrated and Calibration Certificates confirmed thereby improving accuracy of tests and reports.

Managed most inspections of blasting and painting/ coating activities for the above-mentioned Structures blasted and painted in Nigerdock Yard and Dorman Long Engineering Yards through Request for Inspection(s) – RFI(s). Client was very satisfied with the high quality of finished products.

Also supervised Field Joint Coating of Pipes and Assembled Structures at the Erection Area/ Field.

Continuously monitored painted Structures for detection and repair of mechanical damages, rust stains and other defects.
