Project Description: The project Involved developing a new Data-warehouse solution from scratch using SSIS 2016 and SQL 2016 . The Current OLTP system was heavily transactional and led to huge amount of data being stored in the DB on a daily basis thereby affecting the reporting queries and the performance.

I was tasked with creating a Data-warehouse solution that could help eliminate the dependency on the OLTP and make the reporting more meaningful and easily accessible at all times .

Responsibilities:

lTranslated business requirements into technical design specifications using Visio to design ERD schema.

lModeled the Data-warehouse system using the OLTP tables and creating an easy to use Reporting Database that could scale large amounts of data .

lDenormalized data fields to meet the business requirements and specifications to build a data marts for various departments into a metadata.

lDesigned and implemented cubes across multiple data marts using OLAP methods in Business Object for users to access reporting as its needed

lDesigned ETL flows to extract data from OLTP application and stored in Data-warehouse DB.

The data comes in a standard template defined by the team wherein it’s exported in CSV format. The data is then taken and run through the process of SSIS and procedures which take the source data do the necessary validation and then map it to the correct destination tables. The system has been developed and maintained such that year after year if any new customers want to use our Application, they could easily migrate just by exporting their data to us. Once the customer data is in our system it just runs as if it were created from the application natively.
