Academic Project
Mineralogical Modelling using Core and Well Log Data Guide: Prof. Kumar Hemant Singh, Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Bombay
• Mineralogical Model for 3 separate wells were developed using 66 core samples
• Identification of mineral is done by using Petrographic Thin Section
• Determination of Percent Volume of each mineral present in core is done by XRD analysis
• Volume percent of minerals obtained from cores were compared with the model obtained by petrophysical analysis

Field Experience
Geological Field Trip, Ambaji, Gujarat
Guide: Prof. Prabhakar Naraga, Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Bombay
• Studied the geological association of various lithologies such as calc-silicates, granite, quartzites, phyllites and marble in the Ambaji basin
• Numerous Meso-scale structures, such as folds, faults, boudins were interpreted in and around Surpagala and Taleti shear zones to understand the tectonic setting of Ambaji basin
• Studied the textural patterns and deformation features of voluminous Mount Abu (Rajasthan) granite batholith along a single traverse
• Visited Deri mines and learnt about geological setting of Sulphur mineralization
Field Training with ONGC Field Party GP-03, Mehsana, Gujarat
• Exposed to seismic survey designing
• Learnt and observed the process of data acquisition
Geophysical Surveys at IIT Bombay
Guide: DR. M.Radhakrishna, Department of Earth Science, IIT Bombay

ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation), SPIC, Panvel Project: 2D Offshore Seismic Data Processing
Guide: Dr. Anand Prakesh, DGM-GP, ONGC
• Implemented 2D basic seismic data processing in data to generate subsurface image
• Preprocessed the data by generating and merging navigation data, editing and removing auxiliary channels and shots further more attenuated the noise and corrected the spherical divergence
• Quality checked the data using NTG and Brute Stack.
• Applied Surface Related Multiple Elimination (SRME), muted multiples, carried out velocity analysis and NMO corrected the CMP gather and performed Kirchoff’s Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM) to get the subsurface image
