University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center - Lead Leave Administrator (3 campuses)

Human Resources Department (Aug. 2019 to current)

In August of this year, Colin Fonda, Associate Director of Total Rewards, asked that I become the “Lead Leave Administrator” for all 3 campuses for the University of Oklahoma. Whereas I used to serve approximately 6500 employees, I now oversee the FMLA, ADA, and all other leave policies/practices at the University of Oklahoma for its approximately 12,500 employees. In this new position, I have been tasked with researching, revising, and submitting established University practices and procedures that need to be updated or revamped. Beginning in fall 2019, I have been assisting the Accessibility & Disability Resource Center on the Norman campus with writing student academic accommodations as well as writing employee accommodations. I now supervise one employee on the Norman campus and technically advise an employee on the Tulsa campus. To accomplish the goals of the University of Oklahoma, and to limit liability to the University, I work closely with our EEO Office and Legal Department.

*Successfully navigated an investigation by the Department of Labor into our FMLA practices. The result was “no findings, no violation.”

University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center - Leave Administrator, HSC Campus

Human Resources Department (Sept. 2017 to Aug. 2019)

AS the ADA/FMLA Administrator, I coordinated the Shared Leave program alongside the Shared Leave Committee. I also processed all FMLA leave requests and designate appropriately. ADA is a new functionality taken on by the HR Department from our Disability Resource Center in Norman. Under this new role, I administered ADA on the HSC campus for faculty and staff. This includes intake, evaluation, and determination of the appropriate course of action. To determine this course of action, I work closely with the employee and the appropriate departmental or college leadership on implementing this course of action.

University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center - HR Functional Analyst

Human Resources Department (Nov. 2015 to Aug. 2017)

As an HR Functional Analyst, I served as backup to the HR Records Manager, and HR Leave Coordinator. I performed higher level system tasks including building/modifying PeopleSoft queries, coordinating with campus departments and the Budget Office to create and submit the agenda to the OU Board of Regents, and advise all campus departments of appropriate/proper procedures regarding University records.

University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center - HR Business Partner

Human Resources Department (Aug. 2014 to Nov. 2015)

As an HR Business Partner, I was the first point of contact for departmental administrators and leadership. I advised on employment law, compensation and University policy, procedures and practices.

University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center - HR Leave Coordinator

Human Resources Department (Sept. 2012 to July 2014)

As the Leave Coordinator I coordinated the University's Shared Leave Program alongside the Shared Leave Committee. I also processed all FMLA leave requests and designated appropriately. In addition to shared leave and FMLA, I worked with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission and OUHSC Departmental Payroll Coordinators to review and process unemployment claims for the HSC campus.

University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center - Records Technician

Human Resources Department (April 2012 to Aug. 2012)

My initial position at OUHSC was Human Resources Representative. I processed direct deposits in the Oklahoma DD System and worked with representatives from several state agencies and numerous private financial institutions to accomplish this. I created and maintained University personnel files. I reviewed and approved personnel action forms for the entire campus as well as reviewing, correcting, approving and storing I-9s.

University of Oklahoma, K20 Center for Educational & Community Renewal - Financial Administrator

K20 Center (Sept. 2006 to Jan. 2010)

In this position I was responsible for all financial transactions related to our 15 grant projects/discretionary funds (payroll, expenditures, travel expenses, etc.) and the monthly/yearly reconciliation of said accounts. I was also the Assistant to the Directors and managed our student staff of approximately four student employees and numerous graduate research assistants. In addition, I was responsible for all human resources related functions within our department. As the Financial Administrator I maintained relationships with hundreds of outside vendors as well as contacts throughout many University departments.
