Working as Registrar/Staff Physician of Pediatric ICU on full time & regular basis.
Al Yamamah Hospital is a 500 bedded, tertiary care hospital, specialized in Maternity and Child Health including Specialties like Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine and, Neurology. It has a fully equipped 59 bedded Neonatology department and 10 bedded PICU with full time consultants.
Pediatric Intensive Care unit is 10 bedded, busy modern and fully equipped unit, having average 200 admissions per year and 100 highly complex cases are being attended to.
My duty is to deal with all kinds of Pediatric emergencies, Stabilization and appropriate triaging to admit patients to Critical Care/ Intensive care Unit, Act as team leader in Codes in the Emergency Room, General Pediatric Ward and any other place in the hospital
In PICU my day to day duty comprises of management of patients with invasive and non invasive mechanically ventilated patients; Organize patient round along with the team and formulate treatment plan, Bedside procedure, LP, ET intubation, re intubation and Chest tube insertion .Modulation and titration of ventilator both conventional and High frequency ventilators based on Blood gas ; Monitoring patients with Cardiovascular and hemodynamic compromise and adopt appropriate treatment measures to mitigate them. Assist in fibrotic bronchoscopy. Use of procedural anesthesia when required.
Supervision of Board Residents and specialists and provide bedside teaching.
Attend call from Pediatric ER to stabilize critical cases like status epilepticus and Supraventicular Tachycardia ( svt ). Atend code blue.

The Neonatal unit has 50 beds and equipped with latest and all modern equipments.
As senior resident I had to provide and attend all calls from the labor and delivery room, provide neonatal resuscitation, Neonatal examination and refer to appropriate departmrnt.
In the ER, I used to attend all pediatric emergencies and take part in resuscitationand Stabilization.
In the General paediatric department, my duty was to admission, ward round and discharge along with my team.
