Provide advice, information and instruction on local OHS issues and assist in the application of OHS procedures. Report and investigate incidents, injuries and hazards and implement agreed control measures. Monitor and Audit local area OHS compliance with regard to risk, emergency and hazardous waste management

Primary Duties

Lead, Manage and Motivate site HSE team in implementing the company policy and ensuring safe work operations by preserving employees, assets and environment.

Provide relevant information for monthly HSE reports.

Ensure all necessary safety precautions are being adhered to and that any information or instruction on HSE matters being issued to be followed by everyone concerned.

Advise and assist site management in achieving high level of HSE objective and targets.

Assist in developing safety training program with particular emphasis during construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning phase of projects.

Carry out daily site survey to ensure work method in operation is fully safe, safety requirements are being implemented, and Welfare and first aid facilities are adequate and properly maintained.

Promote awareness among co-workers and site personnel to participate in hazard identification & risk assessment and recommend control measures.

Ensure adequate interface established between sub-contractors and asset including emergency handling.

Review and provide advice on HSE documentation such as Project HSE plan, CEMP, WMP, Emergency response plan, and Contractors audit. Ensure competency of sub-Contractors HSE personnel.

Ensure Plant & Equipment are in compliance to all HSE regulations including the competency of the drivers and operators.

Conduct Weekly Inspections & monthly Safety audits for bench marking health, safety and environmental standards with current legislation and agreed project procedures.

Participate in Risk assessments exercise in order to identify and evaluate HSE hazards/risks and Safety improvements with all types of control measures.

Monitoring and documenting unsafe behaviors and unsafe conditions, advise management and employees on new legislation. Conduct on job training for them as and when required.

Review Method statement, rigging study and job safety analysis for heavy lifting and advice on HSE concerns.

Investigate or arrange for all accidents and near-misses be investigated, prepare report of findings, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of action

Ensure proper implementation of site waste management programmed.

Ensure all personnel with emergency duties are fully prepared through training and exercises.
