NDE Coordinator

Nondestructive examination coordinator at Pennsylvania Chemicals Shell Cracker Plant located in Monaca,PA. Repsonsilblities include directing / supervising the sub-contractors technicians for all surface and sub-surface testing on site. Daily tasks include fabricating individual NDE requests and distrubutating those among the testing technicans assigned to my area. Also, reviewing pnuematic and hydrostatic test packages to ensure all code required NDE is complete prior to testing. Site quality inspector on a direct hire union combined cycle HRSG project located in Smithton Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include review of welder qualifications, inspection data, NDE testing reports, turnover documentation, implementing CITP’s and witnessing hydrostatic / pneumatic testing. Daily tasks include welding inspections of in process / completed joints or structures; coordinating any non-destructive examinations as well as PRE and PWHT (if required), witnessing bolting torques and responsible for welding inspections inside air inlet filter houses. Also, supervised / inspected all field welded items for subcontractor responsible for aluminum welding on the ISO-Phase Buss and witnessed final installation verification of bolted connections per specifications.

Senior Site Quality Inspector

Direct hire union combined cycle HRSG project as the lead site quality inspector at Oregon Clean Energy located in Oregon, Ohio. Daily responsibilities include but not limited to; welding inspections, generating daily inspection reports, performing welder qualification / destructive testing of welder coupons, completing welder qualification test records, verifying dimensional specifications of structures / piping spools, electrical insulation resistance (megger) testing, witnessing bolting torques, signing concrete / grout pour cards as well as witnessing field tests of freshly mixed concrete. I supervised / inspected third party contractor responsible for all aluminum welding on the ISO-Phase Buss works. I am very familiar with PRE and PWHT requirements of P91 (P15E) grade alloy as well as coordinating non-destructive examination (UT, MT & PT) requirements of in-process field welding that corresponds to particular codes. Also, worked directly with NACE inspector to ensure all project specifications have been followed. This includes achieving required surface profiles before applying protective coatings as well as DMT / WMT testing on the finished item.

Shop Surveillance – Quality Assurance Inspector

Mechanical and welding QA surveillance inspector on all P15E (P91) grade alloy piping spools supplied to the Oregon Clean Energy Combined Cycle Project. Duties include implementation of welding procedures, NDE procedures, inspection test plans (ITP’s) welder qualifications and following the quality program. Daily activities performed; visual inspection on workmanship on components, review material certification records (MTR’s) dimensional checks, review QC / code documentation, in-process inspections of shops welding operations, surveillance of PWHT, witness NDE testing when code required, document / submit non-conformances when applicable and complete daily SSR reports.

Site Quality Inspector (CM / Owners Rep.)

Direct hire site quality inspector on construction of a 495 MW natural gas fired combined cycle unit. Facility utilized a Mitsubishi 501 J series combustion turbine (CT) and a Nooter/Eriksen heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) in a 1x1 configuration. Performed daily audits on subcontractor’s inspection, testing and documentation per contract and code requirements. Witnessed numerous hydrostatic tests on all underground HDPE polyethylene piping systems.
