Roles and Responsibility

Carry out detailed Inspection of Electrical and Instrumentation, Telecom equipment’s installed at site as per IEC standard.

Completeness of the documentation such as Ex Registers, Ex Check Sheets.

Compilation of the Ex Register and associated documentation for the entire scope of topsides equipment.

Review of the documentation already supplied by the vendors: Ex Registers, Ex Check Sheets, Ex Certificates.

Ensure the correct installation of BP’s new substation situated in the brownfield of the SCPX site, following site specification and liaison with the E&I Lead from BP to ensure all hook up cabling from HV, MV, fire & gas, Cathodic protection, Heat tracing, Telecom, small power cabling is carried out correctly.

Performing pre-inspection of works before client walk downs, ensuring all paper work and documentation supporting the hand over are present for client requirements

Promoting within multinational workforce, good safety culture and leadership ensuring tasks are carried out safely and to BP HSE standard.

Working as the Performing Authority with Control of Works/PTW system

Prepare and coordinate all relevant electrical completion reports for inspection and assist in commissioning of electrical equipment and panels.

Preparation of electrical and instrument inspection test plan ITPs

Perform pre-commissioning and assist in commissioning of electrical and instrumentation equipment which include line check and loop check of all the Instrument and Electrical cables prior to commissioning.

Equipment’s installed comply with the ATEX 95/137 DIRECTIVES, IEC 60079-14 & IEC 60079-17 and Ensure all the Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Fire and Gas & HVAC Client Standards for compliance with all applicable Codes, Specification, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Standards.

Performed Grade of Inspection Visual, Closed and Detailed and submitted the reports. Completed the Ex Inspection Test Reports (Ex ITR) with no outstanding punch list items for prior to Energization for all the potentially explosive equipment’s.

Performed surveillance activities during installation of all Electrical, Instrument, Fire and Gas, HVAC and Telecommunications Equipment’s and recorded punch list, report any anomalies and abnormalities discovered between the equipment’s as per IEC 60079 requirement and client’s specification. Coordinate with Site E & I Supervisors, Engineers and Vendors as well for the possible techniques and for corrective actions in resolving the related problems and for documents, drawings that are not available on site.

To access the condition of Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Fire and Gas & HVAC Equipment’s installations in hazardous areas to ensure that it is installed and is maintained in a satisfactory condition

Perform Electrical and Instrumentation, Telecom inspections on Ex Equipment in accordance with IEC 60079-17 & 14 requirements for FPSO projects and support the construction group on technical matters.

If the equipment or electrical apparatus is appropriate and certified to use in hazardous area.

To check for loose terminations, bolts, glands, IP washers installed, unplugged cable entries, cable damage and rating of cables.

All sealing’s are intact.

Earthlings to all equipment’s/electrical apparatus are satisfactory.

No accumulation of dirt or dust inside the equipment’s.

Equipment is protected against corrosion, moisture, vibration, excess temp.

All connections are tight.

All glands are as per certification and IP washers installed.

All devices are in accordance with the certification requirements.

All works are carried out as per the correct drawings/ specifications /standards.

Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation wiring and equipment are installed as per project specifications procedures and international codes and standards.

Oversee E&I related construction activities (electrical equipment installation, cabling, terminations, testing, commissioning etc.) performed by the Sub-Contractors in assigned coverage area and ensure that all E&I related activities are performed safely and in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Review company specifications, drawings, method statements, QC procedures and inspection test plans. Maintain daily reports and log of daily activities.

Conduct daily and weekly quality checks and report on Sub-contractors work activities related to electrical and instrumentation installations.

Perform pre-commissioning and assist in commissioning of electrical and instrumentation equipment which include line check and loop check of all the Instrument and Electrical cables prior to commissioning.

Clear remedial works and out standings, commissioning related punch lists,

Electrical and instrument inspection test record (ITR) as per specification.
