Senior Database Architect June 2019 – December 2019 Was in charge of guiding the Oracle, MySQL, and MS SQL Server run team in implementing changes to the database environment that improves performance of the database. This includes analyzing the environment for potential I/O contention, solving slow running queries and long running jobs from the application team. Created Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Backups and other integral processes in the database environment. Was in charge of encrypting the database environment using Guardium Data Encryption (GDE) methods. Worked on planning and designing solutions to Argo’s Audit remediation and security issues. Worked on strategies to implement solutions across their Oracle and SQL Server environment. Designed plan to guide team on switching some of their servers from Telnet to SSH with minimal impact on applications that connect to the database. Monitored and optimized database performance, troubleshooting performance issues using OEM, and AWR. Performed SQL Tuning. Used the Crontab utility to perform batch jobs.
