Senior Database Architect June 2019 – December 2019 Was in charge of guiding the Oracle, MySQL, and MS SQL Server run team in implementing changes to the database environment that improves performance of the database. This includes analyzing the environment for potential I/O contention, solving slow running queries and long running jobs from the application team. Created Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Backups and other integral processes in the database environment. Was in charge of encrypting the database environment using Guardium Data Encryption (GDE) methods. Created NOLOGGING Tablespaces on new mount points and migrated NOLOGGING objects to the NOLOGGING Tablespaces on the mount point using Datapump. Recovered databases using backup pieces through RMAN. Worked on planning and designing solutions to Argo’s Audit remediation and security issues. Worked on strategies to implement solutions across their Oracle and SQL Server environment. Designed plan to guide team on switching some of their servers from Telnet to SSH with minimal impact on applications that connect to the database. Guided the SQL Server migration team in strategies involved in moving their MS SQL dedicated servers (Non-Prod and Prod) into a cluster environment. Led the Oracle database team in disabling accounts with default password. Guided MS SQL Server team in strategies in changing default port numbers of servers in Non-Prod and Prod (including SOX Servers). I also created databases and database objects. Cloned production databases as needed for testing and development using RMAN and Grid Control. I implemented backup and recovery procedures using RMAN and Data Pump utility for Oracle databases and test regularly in conjunction with Operations. Maintained 24*7 Availability by implementing standard processes and troubleshooting live issues within defined SLA times. Monitored and optimized database performance, troubleshooting performance issues using OEM, and AWR. Performed SQL Tuning. Used the Crontab utility to perform batch jobs. Managed database security by creating and assigning privileges to users depending on the user’s activity, auditing and performing other security related tasks including Transparent Database Encryption. Was part of a team that planned and implemented Oracle Data Guard standby databases for production database failover to remote disaster recovery sites.
