My web show that allows the power of communication to connect people from different parts of the world. With interviews that take place on a college campus, Culture Vulture allows it's audience to interact and ask questions to international students. Here, we practice intercultural communication for those that may not be able to travel the world and do it themselves.

Lead Academic Mentor
Provide peer coaching to AmeriCorps fellows at a middle or high school campus
Conduct monthly observations of AmeriCorps fellows to support individual development and achieve site goals
Provide support onboarding Corps members to IYT service model.
Support and/or conduct extended day programming through facilitation of enriching activities for students before, during and after school including, but not limited to, academic enrichment and intervention, homework support, recreation, service learning, and leadership development.
Provide one on one and small group mentoring to students and regularly meet with their parents/guardians
Participate in monthly professional development sessions
Organize and maintain student contact data through salesforce
Lead all workshops relating to college access and completion including but not limited to SAT/ACT preparation, personal statements and scholarships
Regularly meet with seniors (high school only) to assist with all items related to college including but not related to college applications, scholarships, FAFSA, placement test, etc.
Participate and facilitate college tours, brotherhood trips and campus events
Facilitate college admission and financial aid workshops for students and parents
Track and report key student performance indicators to supervisor on a monthly basis

applications, college/program acceptances, scholarships)
Support and facilitate concurrent enrollment with local colleges (high school only)
Ensure students are registered for college testing (e.g. PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc.)

Chaperoned field trips to multiple academic locations such as Aquarium of the Pacific and LACMA

Men of Honor: Celebrating the Great Among Us 2020
Keynote speaker at Sacramento State’s “Men of Honor: Celebrating the Great Among Us” event. The Men of Honor Program brings together men across the campus and in the community to celebrate the rich accomplishments of men making an impact in the lives of others in the higher education terrain and within the region.
California State University: Young Males of Color Consortium 2019
Was selected to represent Sacramento State at the CSU Young Males of Color Consortium with all 23 schools in attendance. The YMOC was designed to advance a systemwide focus on improving outcomes for young males of color in the CSU system. Its efforts are guided by the CSU’s Graduation Initiative 2025 and its goal of eliminating all equity gaps for historically underrepresented students. The primary goal of the forum was to develop a legitimate mechanism for students, leaders, and educators to learn from one another, and to collaborate with regional and national experts to explore strategies for improving outcomes for young males of color.
IYTU 2018-Present
IYTU is a male success initiative at Sacramento State focused on increasing the number of men color that graduate on time and prepared to enter the workforce
IYT U is a community of “Brothers” with different backgrounds, ethnicities and experiences, but are like-minded with the common goal to graduate from college and be successful post-graduation
Members gain access to various opportunities such as employment, internships, networking events, and career field trips to major corporations (I.E. Google, Amazon, Tesla, etc.)
We believe in service to others and giving back to our community whether it is giving food and water to the homeless and/or volunteering at our various IYT College Academy sites.
Every member is designated a mentor that they meet with on a monthly basis for an individual and/or group mentoring session. Academic and personal support is discussed around the topic of the month (i.e. growth mindset, masculinity, time management, etc.)
Members engage in monthly workshops surrounding professional and personal development as well as “real talks” in which local professionals share their experiences in education and professional career.
College Match 2018
Personalized college prep to help talented students from low-income families get into and graduate from the nation’s top colleges and universities
Each student is assigned a dedicated college counselor to guide them through the process from application to graduation
Sacramento State Wrestling Club 2018-2019
Took 3rd place in the State of California for all wrestling clubs
Improve Your Tomorrow, IYT. 2018-Present
The IYT College Academy is a program of IYT that serves young men of color at traditional middle and high schools. Students can enter the program anytime from 7th to 11th grade and continue with IYT through college graduation. The program serves over 800 students in fifteen middle and high schools in Sacramento County.
IYT students are provided with the following wrap-around support services from 7th through 12th grade including student development, weekly tutoring, internships, college tours, parent engagement and mentorship
The primary outcomes include decreasing suspension rates, decreasing chronic absenteeism, increasing college readiness (A-G completion), increasing high school graduation and increasing college attendance rates.
