BIOGRAPHY

I am geologist with 33 years’ experience with 19+ years in operational roles including:

7 years as an operations geologist with Shell in Australia;

1 year as a senior operations geologist with Inpex Operations;

2 years as an operations geologist with Woodside Energy;

Considerable wellsite geology experience across multiple basins throughout Australia, South Korea and Papua New Guinea;

9 years as a development geologist with Chevron;

Field mapping experience in Papua New Guinea with BP.

I have extensive operational experience which when coupled with a background in development geology results in considerable expertise in the drilling and evaluation of petroleum wells along with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of geoscience.

EXPERIENCE

Consultant Senior Operations Geologist – Inpex

January 2020 to April 2020 (4 months)

Senior operations geologist planning a high profile mid to deep water HPHT wildcat in the Browse Basin, Australia. My tasks and achievements at Inpex included:

Interfaced with drilling engineers, geologists, petrophysicists, pore pressure and geomechanical specialists resulting in a robust plan to drill Bassett Deep-1, a complex mid to deep water HPHT exploration well in the Browse Basin, Australia.

Delivered comprehensive well specific geological operations program, formation evaluation and fluid sampling program, and pore pressure evaluation program.

Consultant Senior Wellsite Geologist – Woodside Energy

December 2015 to November 2017 (~2 years)

Wellsite geologist for Swell-1A, a high profile mid-water HPHT rank wildcat exploration well located in the Southern Exmouth Sub-basin, Australia with pore pressures up to 1.76 sg (14.2 ppg) and mud weights up to 1.8 sg (15.0 ppg). In addition to the standard wellsite geology duties, I developed a workflow to track all pumps-off events, drilled gas, connection gas, swab and trip gas along with mud weights, static and dynamic densities and compared information with 3rd party pore pressure models to provide an integrated pore pressure solution.

Wellsite geologist for the Persephone and Lady Nora batched drilled high pore pressure horizontal development programs on the North West Shelf of Australia.

Consultant Senior Operations Geologist – Inpex

March 2014 to December 2014 (9 months)

Senior operations geologist planning a high profile mid to deep water HPHT wildcat in the Browse Basin, Australia. My tasks and achievements at Inpex included:

Prepared offset well and geo-hazard / HPHT reviews including a review of mud weights, total gas, kicks, losses and ballooning in offset wells. This study resulted in a significant change to the planned mud weight strategy for the proposed well.

Evaluated 3rd party contracts (mudlogging, wireline and palynological services).

August 2006 to March 2014 (~8 years)

I was the sole operations geologist for 25 high pressure and low permeability mid-water exploration, appraisal and horizontal development wells in the Browse Basin and one deep water wildcat HPHT well drilled to ~6000 mMDRT in 1300 m of water in the Carnarvon Basin. My work at Shell included the planning and execution of Shell’s flagship Prelude floating LNG project comprising 8 horizontal wells drilled to a depth of ~4100 mTVDSS.
