An experienced Process Engineer with expertise in delivering multi-million dollar Oil & Gas projects. Over fifteen years of experience in Conceptual, Front End and Detailed Engineering. Several successfully completed greenfield and brownfield projects for offshore and onshore Oil & Gas facilities (including LNG) as well as pharmaceutical facilities.

-Successfully completed an optimized ITT design of a gas plant that utilized two distillation columns instead of three for the production of value streams of condensate (1,000 BPD), LPG (1,500 BPD) and sales gas (15 MMSCFD) worth an estimated total of over 100,000 USD/day in sales revenues. The resulting design saved over 0.5 million USD in estimated CAPEX with a corresponding savings in OPEX and had a feed input of condensate stabilizer off-gas and separator liquids.

-Completed the update of a number of project philosophies and the review of IFC P&IDs of a gas project, making valuable input that required good engineering judgment in order to meet quality requirements.

-Completed the update of the Installation, Operating and Maintenance manual of H2S removal/regeneration system from sour gas utilizing DEA.

-Completed the initial study for developing an energy recovery system from waste that will reduce the initial CAPEX by at least 75% of currently available Circulating Fluid Bed Combustion technologies.

-Completed the initial study for developing a sustainable business model for waste management based largely on reduced CAPEX and optimized OPEX of the various operational aspects along the waste management chain.

-Led an engineering design team of 5 engineers and 1 designer to achieve projects target date completion rate of over 95% while simultaneously meeting quality, budget and safety requirements. Achieved 100% completion rate on projects target dates for projects inherited from other teams.

-Completed a flare gas (20,000 Sm3/day) recovery project generating an estimated revenue of over 2 million USD/day and a second one (21,000 - 43,000 Sm3/day) generating an estimated 2 to 4 million USD/day in revenue.

-Reviewed all discipline work done by the team engineers and third party, providing detailed engineering input during all design phases, providing specialist engineering input and encouraging the development of Omani staff to fulfill process engineering roles.

-Represented team in project meetings and cascaded expectations down to team members in actionable ways.

-Developed process engineering deliverables for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) projects in a multi-discipline engineering team; process simulations and optimization studies (using HYSYS/UNISIM, Pipesim, Flarenet Pipeline Studio), PEFS/PSFS/PFS, heat and material balances, equipment/line/valve sizing, philosophies and narratives, operating manuals update etc. and ensured process engineering deliverables compliance with PDO Specifications and Guidelines, Shell DEPs, International Specs (API, ISO, etc.), and local Omani regulations.

-Provided active process safety and process engineering support for technical and safety reviews (including design reviews, HAZOPs, IPFs, pre-start up audits, etc.) and actively supported and communicated with other disciplines including projects and planning to optimize areas of interface during design development by relevant appreciation of their areas of work.

-Evaluated technical documentation for equipment sourcing and ensured equipment vendors provide timely and quality input into design packages that meet the relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.

-Applied solid engineering judgment and proper HSE management in compliance with BP’s codes, procedures and standards while carrying out process engineering activities; updating existing/developing new P&IDs, ensuring implementation of Management of Change Procedure from inception, design and commissioning, compiling / distributing comprehensive process improvement progress reports, providing input for root cause analysis studies.

-Provided active support and input to, the Shutdown Manager and Shutdown Teams in equipment post task preparation and re-commissioning, construction teams, clients’ Materials Maintenance Management System, management team/discipline handovers and Planning Team Leader and Procurement Coordinator.

Accomplishments: Created from scratch new sets of P&ID’s and equipment/daughter tags for identifying all items of equipment for 5 surface production facilities, as well as the for entry into CMMS.

Clients worked for: ExxonMobil, Chevron, Total, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), Addax, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and Nigeria Gas Company (NGC).

-Developed process engineering design deliverables for various clients’ projects in a multi-discipline engineering team; simulations, flow assurance and optimization studies (using Hysys, Pipesim, HTRI), PEFS/PSFS/PFS, design basis, equipment/line/valve sizing, philosophies and narratives etc. and ensured designs are complaint with clients’ specs and standards, International Specs (API, ISO, etc.) and Nigerian regulations. Ensured that developed designs are constructible and operable and went on site visits when required for projects.

-Active mentorship and supervision of junior engineers, reviewing some discipline work done by the team engineers and third party, providing detailed engineering input during all design phases, ensuring completion of tasks on time and of good quality and routine reporting of weekly projects’ status.

-Delivered design deliverables for a 20,000 BPD oil transfer pump project; PFDs and P&IDs, Pump sizing calculations, Line sizing/verification calculations

-Developed Hysys simulation of a wet gas scrubber project and provided learning support for process team.

-Conducted as-built updates of facility P&IDs and databases and liaised with equipment manufacturers and vendors to ensure correctness of technical data, updated inventory of plant equipment spares on SAP database.

-Monitored the performance of process units with a view to identifying areas need and improvement, performed troubleshooting/root-cause analysis of plant upsets, recommended and implemented environmentally friendly corrective/preventive solutions that integrated flawlessly into existing facilities to avoid future recurrence. Developed new standard operating procedures and instructed operational staff on their use.

-Participated in review meetings including HAZOPs, reviewed plant energy and water balance and associated cost analysis to determine opportunities for savings.

-Accomplishments: • Completed in 3 months the as-building, verification/validation of over 2,000 pieces of plant equipment and instrumentation and developed/updated over 20,000 cells of technical database information.

• Engineered and executed the design of a back-wash system for the solvent-recovery distillation column thus eliminating chronic downtime of 8 - 10 hours per week with potential cost savings of about 7,000 Euros/week and proposed new operating, control and safeguarding philosophies to avoid recurrence.

• Led the design, pilot testing and execution of a very efficient design that eliminated the premature failure of dryer tubes in incinerator waste-gas analyzer, resulting in a direct weekly cost savings of over 1,600 Euros/week.
