At Chemtrade Logistics significantly reduced the hiring process timeline for new hires from 120 days to 40 to 60 days. Result: operations department was able to keep their production schedules and guarantee delivery of products to clients without interruptions and less overtime paid.

At Northern Vertex worked in liaison with the Company’s Chief Information Officer to lead cultural change and employee engagement activities to build a trusting and collaborative relationship with the Human Resources Department of the Fort Mojave Native Tribe. Result: The Native Reserve Leaders trusted our new company with their staff and invited HR to organize a Recruitment Fair on the native reserve to begin hiring tribal members.

At MOSAIC, led change initiatives for better employee engagement, more targeted training, developed programs that ensured higher client satisfaction, sourced and developed successful business relationships. Sought out and developed key relationships with third party benefits providers and for purposes of aligning corporate interests. Result: higher employee satisfaction through the 100 Best Places To Work surveys, higher client satisfaction of programs, better employee engagement through the newly developed training strategies, strategic alliances developed with key corporate brokers that allowed content annual benefits cost increases above 50%.

At Farallon Mining developed the Exit Interview Guide in English and Spanish, analyzed data from exit interviews and developed a quarterly report for the Board of Directors. Result: Timely and targeted solutions to reduce employee turnover rates through the newly developed Exit Interview process, turnover rates were reduced by 59% (from 11.76% (Q1) to 4.76% (Q4) in the first year.

Conducted compensation analysis benchmarking companies’ salaries against peer organizations. Result: provide a framework to shape and reward performance, manage compensation competitiveness, establish baselines for bonuses and stock options, and coach line managers on salary trends based on industry benchmarks.

Conducted educational training sessions for 150+ mine employees in Mexico and coached them on the company’s stock option program. Result: 100% of employees received the benefit of this long-term benefit to the point that a significant number of site employees paid off their mortgages.

Chemtrade Logistics Inc., North Vancouver, BC Oct. 2018 – Jan. 2020 Chemtrade provides industrial chemicals and services to customers in North America and around the world. The Chlor-Alkali plant, located in North Vancouver, has a workforce of 112 employees and 2 unions.

Reported to the Director of HRBP and the Plant Manager of the Chlor-Alkali North Vancouver plant. Collaborated with the Corporate HR team for the development and implementation of HR initiatives. JDS mining, Northern, BC May 2017 – Jun. 2018

Canadian based silver/lead mining company located in northern BC in production involving a workforce of 300 employees.

Led the recalling process of 85+ employees that were laid-off in April and May 2017 due to a Minister shut down order for lead contamination on site. As a result, the company was able to reinstate 85% of the laid-off workforce and avoided paying a significant amount of money in terminations as per the provisions of Employment Standards Act of BC for group terminations.

Developed a tracking system for the aggressive recruitment plan for 2018, coached managers on using it and monitored its implementation. As a result, better engagement by the hiring managers in the hiring processes, changed the culture of how HR department is viewed to a more business partner role for the successful achievement of the company goals.

Developed recruitment initiatives based on a budgeted manpower plan, developed job descriptions and job postings, and disseminated them to the wider community.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, reviewed and developed policies and procedures for the maintenance and administration of the Human Resources functions of the organization, including benefits analysis, performance management, organization-wide orientation, training, employee recognition, medical/disability leaves, accommodation, return- to-work, workplace wellness, etc.
