I have had many successful projects from my college experiences. I have led in groups for Healthcare management classes on a project that would define CRISPR. This is a new technology that allows for gene splicing without introducing foreign DNA bits. The research from this project showing how new crops could be made that would prosper in various elements and even potentially cure many types of mental illnesses, expanded my perception when it comes to my business career. It was a great example on how to be able to look at how a process is being followed and then be able to use the same ideals and methods but also incorporate new ideals and have a better result. A project at work that I have recently completed is directly related to this. Our company has opened a sober living center, this is a place where rehabilitating addiction people will be able to live as they relearn how to be able to live on their own after successfully becoming clean. Many of the sober livings will have little to no medical staff on the premises and this can lead to unfortunate relapse. Knowing this and having the opportunity to be involved in the new project, we initiated having limited staff on the premises to assist with medications and teaching how to cook meals for themselves. The other project that sticks out is the teaching of the financial model. This model will take the financial statements of a company and be able allow you to have a reasonable and defendable analysis of the future health of a company. It also allow to be able to see what the actual effects of an operational change will have on a company’s financial statements. Using this model I was able to calculate the potential gain or loss in the operational change with initiating this new facility. With a nominal amount of funds used for remodeling of an existing build that we were not using, we are able to open the sober living with very limited downside on cost of operations. The potential highest level would lead to a potential decrease of debt by almost $125,000 per year where the maximum amount of loss would be no more than what is being lost currently. Thanks to the courses I have received I have been able to successfully do the following:

My current career goal is to become one of the most valued Controllers in my field. Using my strength of prudence, I will be able to know the changes that will be successful for the business and from my perseverance, I will be able to succeed in completing this short term goal. Upon succeeding this goal in my career, I intend to focus on becoming a CFO in the corporation. The strengths of perseverance, judgement, prudence and honesty will assist greatly in my ability to lead in an increasingly complex business environment. This can be done from being able to examine issues and situations from the business environment using my judgement and hope to successfully navigate thru any challenges. This can be achieved by thinking things through thoroughly and examining the issues from all sides. Additionally, I will be able to use my honesty to convey in a genuine way how to persevere through any issues that will arise in my position. My Prudence will assist in guiding the way through the global, legal and ethical environment of business to becoming successful in being one of the best CFO’s in the area. I will then intend to pursue the Regional or District CFO positon. Using my strength of Judgement, I will be able to successfully evaluate the global impact on my company, what the legal impacts will be, the ethical impact on changes that may have to be incurred.
