On-Line Software International (OSI):

Prior to it being acquired by Computer Associates, I worked as a Senior Technical Consultant with OSI on Internal Product Development and I taught CICS Application Programming as part of their fee for services Corporate Educational Program.

American Video Teleconferencing Inc:

Software developed to facilitate Video Teleconferencing from within a CICS Region. Under the direction of the Conference Leader using Scanner Beds, Cameras and PC Application Data, simulated Terminals comprised of IBM PCs and Perle Communication Controllers construct the Data and Video Streams to be shared among other Conference Attendees. To move Content from Leader to Partipants, I designed and developed Messaging Router/Conference Controller software using CICS/Assembler-based application. Each Conference location had real-time capability to shift in and out of Conference Leader Role and move spreadsheet content, Word document content, scanned/photographic content and Video/Photo feeds of local attendees to all other Remote Conference participants. Project was funded by and developed in cooperation with Hartford CT based Traveler’s Insurance Company in mid-1980s.

SunAmerica Financial Inc:

Objective was to move all Corporate activity from Atlanta to LA but with specific directive to provide GUI Interface in LA to existing legacy systems which were scheduled to remain in Atlanta Operations Center. Client required modernized front-end into heirloom mainframe systems that could seamlessly transition to Server-based environment. I led the Mainframe Team in creating layered application interface that accepted edited input and returned results from/to the new GUI application processors. We deployed a dedicated 2-way MQ-like pipe between the Servers and a CICS Formatter/Router Region which was also responsible for formatting input and output TIOA screen buffers. This Region then acted as a pseudo terminal using a CICS/MRO feed to and from the existing legacy applications without any modification requirements to legacy code. The resulting configuration had Atlanta retaining all backbone processing and LA DP Staff free to build or buy replacement software as applicable. The 2-way pipe could be connected to that replacement in whatever way they determined. This project was begun in mid-1989 and completed at the end of 1990.

Education:

Newark College of Engineering (aka NJIT)

Major: Computer Science - 131 Credits of 128 Needed to Graduate

I was married with 2 kids, working in my field and never received my Diploma.

My Objective: Circumstances concerning the health and well being of a family member required that I retire early from my last position with a major financial Institution. That situation has now resolved and I realize I have another 10 years of productive capacity before again considering retirement. I’ve always maintained a hands-on discipline and I’d like to continue to do that in a primarily development position. I’m anticipating employment in an organization that recognizes the value I bring with the breadth of my experience. I’ve still got all the basics, but some of my skills may need modernization and the help of a little "TLC". Once I've managed to reinforce any small weaknesses, my new associates will quickly realize they've acquired a valuable new resource to assist in meeting our future IT automation challenges together.
