Additional Activities
* I have served as a member of a visiting reaccreditation team with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. My particular focus was on governance and administrative issues. I also coordinated the self-study process and edited the 1987 self-study report at Gratz College.
* I have published freelance articles in Philadelphia Magazine and other periodicals, and letters to the editor in the Philadelphia Inquirer, New York Times Magazine, Wall Street Journal, and other media.
* I served as reviewer for new pharmaceutical protocols as a member of an FDA-mandated Human Research Review Board of the Philadelphia Association for Clinical Trials, Radnor, PA.
* I love challenges: I was a contestant on Jeopardy, completed five marathons, won a national playwriting competition, volunteered with the American Red Cross in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, was an extra on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” volunteered as a tutor in a homeless shelter, currently volunteer in a Philadelphia public school with low-income students, given blood more than 60 times to date, and more. I’m also an active progressive, and I try hard to “repair the world.”
