Increased component collections for fixed sites to 126,000 components per year

Integrated collection equipment to more effectively collect the right components from the right blood types.

Successfully implemented Source Plasma Collections in Jan 2016.

During tenor, all fixed sites successfully passed FDA Inspections with no observations.

In conjunction with other Operations Manager, implemented a New Focus List in Vista to guide center staff in collecting correct components from donors based on blood type.

Inspections success- Clearlake and Sugarland NDC's received 0 483's during recent FDA Inspections. Additionally, participated in initial CLIA inspection in April 2012 for Sysmex instruments resulting in no citations.

Manager, Mobile Operations 2007-2011

Responsible for 55 Mobile Operations Staff, which included Mobile Supervisor I's, II's, III's, apheresis tech's and mentors.

Managing activities related to ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations, including FDA and AABB guidelines, as well Standard Operating Procedures. Responsible for responding to internal assessments performed by QA at mobile sites where my teams were holding blood drives.

Lead Project Teams to implement several new processes in collections.

1.Labeling-changed way collections labels bags, tubes, and paperwork, including using a sample holder to ensure proper identification of bags, tubes and paperwork to correct donor.

2.Apheresis- evaluation of automated collection equipment in mobiles to move towards a single technology. Evaluation resulted in adding 18 additional Haemonetics machines, upgrading software and Collection Kits and the elimination of the Alyx collection instruments.

3.Primarily responsible for evaluating cost for supplies used in collections. During 2011 saved approximately $48,000 by switching to less expensive gauze, band aids, alcohol pads and lancets.

4.Mobile Services-Lead lean initiative for mobiles services move to the MOC. Mobile service area was made more efficient, reducing supply over use and supply expiration by moving to a Just-In-Time kitting process which reduced open supplies and lots in use.

Managed Brazos Valley Operations during startup phase until a manager was hired and trained.

Donor Collections-managed overall collection operations on several occasions when Director of Donor Collections was on PTO.

2004-2007 Biomat USA Inc Houston, TX

Facility Manager

Responsible for the daily operation of a center with over 20 staff members and Medical Staff, a budget of $4 Million, process’s 25,000 donations annually and runs at $87 a kilogram.

Managing all activities related to ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations, including FDA and CLIA guidelines, as well as company Standard Operating procedures.

Additional responsibilities include: being in charge of the Region while the regional manager was traveling or on vacation. Preparing weekly reports on center status. Reviewing and approving advertising for the region. Also preparing and hosting both internal and external audits, Human Resource Management, Community and Public Relations, Technical Compliance, Training and Facilities management.

Inspection accomplishment include: Center receiving “Most Improved Quality and Compliance” Award during the 2005 National Meeting. The center has received two “O” 483 FDA Inspections. Hosted and passed EMEA Inspection in March 2007. Additionally hosted Spanish Health agency inspectors in May 2007.

DMS implementation and validation-assisted with the setup and installation of DMS in a center that was purchased by Biomat from another company. Also assisted with the setup and validation in a relocated center.

2000-2003 Alpha Therapeutic Bakersfield, CA

Operations Manager

Responsible for the daily operation of a center with over 40 staff members and Medical Staff, a budget of $6 Million, processed 78,000 donations annually and ran at $93 a kilogram.

Managed all activities related to ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations, including FDA and CLIA guidelines, as well as company Standard Operating procedures.
