Clabber Girl Corporation Terre Haute, IN 2017-2019

Buyer

Clabber Girl Corporation is a 150-year-old manufacturer of dry mixes and leavening systems, baking powder, baking soda, corn starch dessert products. Buyer responsibilities for Clabber Girl include responsibly for the sourcing of all ingredient materials, packaging, logistics, co-packing, forecasting, supplier development and score carding. Spend responsibilities are approximately $82mm annually.

oBorrowing from experience in packaging developed a Quad Bag-version specifically for dense products like baking soda which opened the market for new customers and eliminated the need for high density tubs.

oLidding Film- created a new design which incorporates micro perforations allowing the product to breath.

oSourced a new packaging substrate with less moisture absorption. This eliminated a production problem of paper curl and cupping.

oNegotiated successful multi-year contracts with key suppliers resulting in year over year cost downs.

oQualified a new source for composite can safety seal lids leading to annual cost reductions of one million dollars.

Corporate Lead Buyer

In this capacity; three manufacturing sites, I had responsibility for the negotiation and procurement of all Capital Projects & Equipment, Contracted Facilities Leases & Services, Direct Components Procurement, Steel (SBQ), used in the manufacturing of highly engineered combustion engine components. oServing duel rolls as Divisional Purchasing Manager and Credit Manager, reduced material costs by 16% in the first year. Year to date 2005 savings were 26% ahead of plan.

oLeveraged a multi-company purchase and sell arrangement between Bemis and a major supplier which allowed us to sell more products to them and in turn buy at more favorable prices.
