I currently working as a GI Endoscopy Services Manager accountable for administration of the GI endoscopy unit in Burjeel Hospital one of the largest and most prestigious private hospitals in Abu Dhabi. I have an excellent track record in service development and service improvement.

Technical skills

Endoscope disinfection; manual and automatic

Assisting in diagnostic upper and lower GI endoscopy as well as bronchoscopy

Assisting in interventional upper and lower GI endoscopy

Barrett’s RFA, dilatation with Savary Gilliard and balloon including achalasia

Foreign body removal GI

GI bleeding haemostasis; injection sclerotherapy and glue, heater probe, APC, haemospray, banding, clips

polypectomy, EMR, luminal stenting

ERCP; cannulation, sphincterotomy, stone extraction with balloon, basket and mechanical lithotripsy as well as large balloon sphincteroplasty

EUS; FNA, coeliac plexus block, necrosectomy, EUS guided - biliary drainage

EBUS procedures, FNA, balloon dilation, coagulation, stenting

Bariatric work; intragastric balloon insertion and removal, endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (1st in private sector in Abu Dhabi)

Interpretation of capsule endoscopy

Assisting in GI lab including Physiology performing

Update policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and up to date practice in decontamination

Establish and maintains open and effective communication with all members of the staff

Ensure established inventory standards for all supplies and equipment

Arranging departmental training of the safe handling of the flexible endoscopes & infection control.

Train staff and provide opportunities for staff continuous professional development & encourage attendance to continuing education activities

Review and update job plans with CN of the department annually.

Assist with hiring, evaluations, and termination with HR & assigned management team.

Contribute to regular staff meetings

Member of endoscopy users’ group and morbidity and mortality committee

Excellent understanding of JCI standards and twice passed JCI inspection without any improvement suggestion or recommendation from JCI team

Actively participate as a training faculty in national courses in the UAE
