PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Conducted annual quality audits with knowledge of ISO9000, AS9100, FAA, the aerospace industry, and Transport Canada requirements. The audits involved investigating, analyzing, setting up an audit schedule, and assessing risks of the audit schedule, resulting in meeting annual audit deadlines, improving the rating from 5.6 out of 10 to 8.7 out of 10, and completing audits in an accurate and success manner.

Trained and mentored other auditors on the team to learn process and procedure while ensuring the team is doing the best job at the highest quality. Involved personnel reviewing audit procedures, along with supervised preparation of checklists and review of audit results prior to presentation to management, along with constant positive encouragement.

Participated in the interview process for new employees for the audit team, assisting in developing questions with the Quality Assurance Manager and Human Resources, and providing feedback on the final candidate and fit.

Led a group of 5 team members in the quality department; answering questions, problem solving, mentoring, monitoring audit process, while ensuring external auditor findings/recommendations were acceptable and implemented by the organization.

Reported on the standard audit findings for the department; communicating the information to the managers to avoid surprises, gathering feedback, and answering their questions, highlighting positives and action items, the general scope of what was audited, and what were the audit findings.

Implemented an internal audit database system that records results/report documents, gaining buy in from the Quality Assurance Manager and encouraging the IT team to assist with the programming; holding others accountable, resulting in having the database set up within a year. The resulting changes created substantial improvements to efficiencies.

Provided external audit support, e.g. FAA, Transport Canada, shadowing the external auditor, providing scripts and explanations to staff of what was going to be asked, coordinating the meetings with departments, and gathering the appropriate documentation and background information.

Designed a colour coding notification system for audits that communicated deadlines to the appropriate staff members, red being the most urgent in the colour coding notices. The notification system gave staff a 10 day period to reply with their action items to fix any issues or solve a problem ensuring the organization met audit deadlines.

Developed a detailed internal audit checklist to assist other auditors on the team to know what to ask, ensuring accuracy, detail, and consistency.
