Commanding Officer

Oversaw the activities of six collection teams in support of the Texas Ranger Department responsible for Operation Border Star to monitor and react to drug traffic into the United States along the Texas-Mexico border.

I managed all aspects of Receiving Inspection, for products, materials and supplies for manufacturing, assembly and testing facilities. I was also responsible for non-conforming products that were on hold from receiving and in house manufacturing departments. I was responsible for managing a journal of all rejected products and chaired the Material Review Board (MRB) which made disposition of all rejected products. I coordinated Inspection Management and Product/Process Engineering to facilitate and schedule MRB meeting once a week. I served on a committee to develop, organize and implement plans for certification to ISO 9001 Standards.

ISO 9000 certification was obtained in 1996.

Quality Control/Assurance Manager and Sales Engineer

Started as an MB&F inspector and was steadily promoted through the ranks to Skilled Trades’ inspector, Line Supervisor, Senior Supervisor and finely Technical Sales Engineer. As manufacturing Quality Supervisor I coordinated with engineering for drawings required for bids, requisitions, and most manufacturing areas in support of inspection duties. As Sr. Supervisor of assembly, I helped with production planning and scheduling of assembly in accordance with plant capabilities and contract requirements. I was also in charge of the tear down and test area, of all products, to meet assembly standards set by GMC reliability standards. As Sales Engineer, a close relationship with clients was required on a daily basis. Individual detailed design for fleet units was normal and it was my responsibility to address, review, develop and schedule for build per client requirements and scheduled due dates.

Coordinated Project needs from design, materials, hardware, assembly, test and reliability of all transmissions.

Scheduled transmission assembly dates, to include assembly of data books for client on delivery of transmission.

On call for technical service, 24/7, and hands on trouble shooting at home plant or client location, resolving issues with customer concerns. Supported southeast region from Canada to Florida and the Mississippi to the Atlantic.

Random inspection calls on Vendor Suppliers for verification of process. Verify that product is to Allison Blue Prints and validate raw materials used in production of said products.

I served Concurrent Roles with US Army both active and reserves from 1959 through 2014:

Retired Lt. Col. US Army having served in Artillery, Infantry, Aviation and Army Recruiting with 6 active duty and 47 reserve yrs. Currently active with West Point Admissions Field Force as US Military Academy Liaison Officer in two Texas Counties.
