This was a Data migration from Oracle to SQL Server project.

Migrated around 1200 Oracle Store programs to SQL Server platform.

RCRAInfo Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement (CM&E)

The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) gives the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the authority to regulate the generation, transportation, storage, treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes. Under a US Department of Energy/EPA interagency agreement, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory was assigned the responsibility of designing a distributed information system for EPA to facilitate the reporting of RCRA data from implementers to program management. One of the core automation needs was to develop an automated event tracking system for the RCRA compliance monitoring and enforcement (CM&E) program. The CM&E functions require data with complex many-to-many (N:M) relationships.

Developed ETL processes using Store Procedures, PL/SQL, Functions to load data from various data sources to the staging table using OpenNode2 and RCRA Standard.

Created services in OpenNode2 to process the above data using RCRA XML Schema so that the processes get automated.

RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND RECOVERY ACT INFORMATION (RCRA Handler)

RCRA Handlers the national program management and inventory system of RCRA hazardous waste handlers and is used by the EPA to support its implementation of RCRA, as amended by the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments of 1984 (HSWA). The system is primarily used to track a handler's permit or closure status, compliance with Federal and State regulations, cleanup activities, waste handler inventory, and environmental program progress assessment. Handlers can be characterized as fitting one or more of the following categories: treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs), large quantity generators, small quantity generators, and transporters.

The DELTA (Decommissioning Legacy Target) project was initiated to analyze the existing

AZ Mainframe, Client Server and AS/400 environments to determine opportunities for costs

savings through migration to less costly platforms or clean-up of obsolete applications

and data according to the corporate Retention Requirements.

The scope of this work includes analysis to estimate ROI from de-commissioning the legacy

mainframe itself. The analysis results determined a significant ROI from de-commissioning

the mainframe assuming DELTA can provide a cost-effective solution for providing online

access to historic data required by the business that would otherwise be unavailable.
