Driveline Program Control / Pre-Program Engineer – P558, U55X, V363, and AWD Disconnect Unit Program
Responsibilities: Program control for U55Z SAP axle / U55X unit program, P558 SAP axle, V363 SAP Axle, and pre-program systems engineering for 2020MY V363 8.8” HT full float axle and AWD driveline system.
Key Accomplishments
2020MY Transit AWD system: Lead engineer for 1st application of AWD system with front axle attached to transmission.
Results: System approved at PS with $70M booked new revenue
2020MY Transit 8.8” Axle: Lead engineer developing and selling 8.8” HT axle to V363 program using existing P552 components.
Results: 17 kg weight, 0.1 mpg, and $25 / unit savings for 55K FoE units.
Expedition unit program 8.8” HT axle and eLSD: Lead TDE engineer for unit program saving program $30M in investment by pulling forward $74M from CD6R program to build a common Ford axle assembly line.
Results: 11kg weight savings / 0.1 mpg FE and BIC 9100 lb. towing meeting SAE 2807 understeer req. with eLSD.
AWD Disconnect system: Lead engineer for AWD disconnect unit program and Make Buy.
Results: $150M FT save for Ep RDU, 4mm offset high efficiency hypoid gears right sized for LT / HT, 3-5% FE
