HS&E Officer:

Responsibilities:

Co-ordinate and monitor all health, safety and environmental activities to ensure agreed safety and loss prevention standards are fully implemented and properly followed.

Provide HS&E management system support to the integrated operations.

Co-ordinate the cross-divisional management of HS&E with regard to the work area

Manage the activities of the integrated operations HS&E specialists assigned to work sites.

Perform work in accordance to the organization HS&E policies and procedures.

Implement and endorse the organization ''keys to success'' and ''core value'' strategies.

Facilitate the implementation of HS&E systems.

Provide information, advice and support to all levels of the work area staff regarding health, safety and environmental legislation, practices and procedures.

Promote, with management, a safety culture within the workplace, ensuring that all levels of employees are aware, accept and understand their responsibilities with regard to health, safety and environmental issues.

Encourage shared learning, consistency, good practice in terms of HS&E throughout the work place

Interface with the working staff on HS&E issues

Ensure that site inspections and risk / impacts assessments are carried out on a regular basis for

HS&E and that remedial action is taken on any non-compliance.

Monitor the HS&E component of the ''first alert'' incident reporting system, ensuring that all employees are aware of the duty to report all incidents, accidents and near misses.

Conduct training or ensure training is conducted in accordance with hazards, identified via the risk assessments carried out and to comply with legislative and internal requirements.

Recommend activities and changes to promote best practice, eliminate or reduce actual and potential losses.

Ensure integrity of management system documentation and records.

Facilitate the provision of HS&E system training

Analyze legal requirements to determine suitable HS&E standards.

Recommend activities and changes to eliminate or reduce actual and potential losses

Other duties / tasks as deemed required by the managers and integrated operations HS&E manager

Act as the firm representative on HS&E matters for coordinating and conducting weekly site inspections.

Attend weekly comprehensive meeting.

Undertake daily HS&E inspection ensuring follow- up and rectification of detected irregularities and report same to senior operation manager.

Review the HS&E manual and all health safety and environment related documentation, including method of statements, work permit procedures and safety equipment requisition to ensure compliance with establish standards and update all firm established policies to support HS&E programs.

Assist in the preparation of firm specific HSE operating procedures to ensure work obligations are met.

Review scope of work completed from HS&E perspective, to identify trends and possible exposure to problems.

Reporting directly to the engineering/operation manager on HS&E matters such as job hazard analysis, hazard control plan/hazard management plan (HS&E-MS plan) weekly/monthly cashes statistical report/ meeting, emergency respond control plan, security plan and general enforcement on safety rules, regulations and precaution on work site.

Additional skills:

My concern has always remained to carry out all the operations in safe manner. All work personnel must have positive attitude towards safety and accident prevention and must be responsible for quality services and performance. Make sure proper PPE and other safety equipment are used as well as safe work

Practices all unsafe acts/conditions and other incidents must be reported to the supervisors’ in-charge.

Certain habits or material are prohibited such as:

Smoking is prohibited except in certain designated areas.

Fighting is highly prohibited at locations.

Explosives, fire highly inflammable articles like gases under pressure, poisonous gases, radioactive substances, alcohol, drugs etc.

Enforcement of all HS&E rules and regulations on site including all the HS&E policies such as the alcoholic policy,

Driving policy, PPE policy, environmental policy, security policy and etc. enhance compliance to all safety rules and

Regulations. Arrangement of an in-house HS&E training for personnel’s, external and internal auditing program.

I am a results-oriented and college graduate BS Mechanical Engineering. Also managed to accure more than 15 years of work in Safety at Work Team. I was working for Royal Air Force of Oman as a Mechanical Engineer, where I learned valuable professional life, and applying proven organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
